About this product

This album is of high personal significance for us. The works presented here were written especially for our duet by an outstanding Polish composer. Each of these pieces has a history of it's own and brings back various memories. Most of all, it presents a fascinating world of sounds that we would like you to experience. Marcin Blazewicz's compositions are saturated with unusual emotionality, sometimes with drama. Of particular significance to the composer's style is expressiveness and tonal tensions, as is clearly heard in the Double Concerto for Violin, Accordion and Symphony Orchestra and in the Sonata for Violin and Accordion subtitled 'Night Full of Sins'. This album is also special because it is the first one with Marcin Blazewicz's compositions released a few months after his death. At the same time, it is an album that the composer personally worked on, together with us. We believe it is a real honor that such a great composer entrusted us with the performance of his works. We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from him during our conversations and joint work on the scores of the pieces that were personally dedicated to us. With this album, we want to commemorate this great man and our musical friend, who died suddenly and prematurely. We wish to present some of the last works by this extraordinary composer, whose greatest desire, as he often emphasized, was to reach out to listeners and move them with his music. (Karolina Mikolajczyk, Iwo Jedynecki) Album Tracks 1. Sonata for Violin and Accordion 'Night Full on Sins' (2019) 2. Double Concerto for Violin, Accordion and Symphony Orchestra (2015-2016)

Munchner Symphoniker Edusei - Symphony 3 - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

The motto of this new of Schubert's Symphonies Nos. 3 & 7 in E-major might be InchOn to new horizons!Inch In general, this phrase has positive connotations, and it offers an apt description for the sparkling innovative force driving forward Symphony No. 3 in D-major. Here, Schubert is still in a state of experimentation characterized by youthful energy, having overcome the teething troubles which plagued the previous Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2. Does the phrase, however, also apply to the completion of the score fragment of Symphony No. 7 in E-major? One has to admit that the answer is yes and no. On the one hand, the slow introduction of the Seventh in E-major sounds like something perfectly new (and something newly perfect), on the other, there may have been reasons why Schubert, who impatiently began composing straight into the sketched-out score, left the symphony a mere skeleton. Even in a version completed by another hand, this work is worth exploring, as it builds a bridge from the carefree Symphony No. 6 to Schubert's late works, the Unfinished Symphony and the Great Symphony in C-major. Two departures for new horizons - and they are two different horizons - are what we seek to document with this recording. Album Tracks 1. Symphony No. 3 in D Major, D. 200 2. Symphony No. 7 in E Major, D. 729

Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra - Polish Accordion Concertos - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Since the 1960s the Polish accordion concerto has enjoyed increasing popularity and in recent years no one has inspired more composers to write for the instrument than Klaudiusz Baran. The three most important Polish concertos are showcased in this album. Marcin Blazewicz's concerto possesses a fascinating wealth of colors with spectacular passages and melodic arabesques cast in a richly communicative language. Mikolaj Majkusiak's youthful Concerto Classico is a virtuosic synthesis of old and contemporary forms, while in 1973 Bronislaw Przybylski wrote a swashbuckling concerto full of the folkloric influence of Polish dances. Album Tracks 5. Concerto polacco~II. Tempo rubato, molto espressivo 8. Concerto Classico~II. Lento drammatico - 9. Concerto Classico~III. Presto con fuoco
