Easily assembled. Includes all tools necessary. Nice finish. It IS solid wood but not particularly high grade wood or thick. Considerably lighter than desks that would typically be called "solid". With that said, this also is not a very expensive desk so I wasn't expecting amish built craftsmanship or anything.
