Superb, sharp, smooth

This sony Bravia 5 55 inch Mini Led unit is the perfect blend between price and quality. If you must have an OLED, then this isn’t the unit. However, saving 500 plus for nearly the same quality at 55 inch its a no brainer. Google TV expereince, smooth, snappy, and depp rich near perfect blacks is everything youll want and this unit delivers

I’m very impressed with this TV so far. The picture quality is sharp, colors are vibrant, and the Mini LED brightness makes movies and games look amazing. Google TV works smoothly and the interface is fast and easy to use. The sound is decent for built-in speakers, and the overall design looks premium. Great upgrade for watching sports, Netflix, and YouTube. Definitely recommend if you want a modern Sony TV with excellent image quality.

Great item. I’ve been watching this specific model for several months. Finally found a display model go on open box at an enticing price. No regrets waiting for the right opportunity. Sony Bravia gives an outstanding quality picture. Sound is best coming from an external sound bar or amp.

I love Sony. This model replaces my 10 year old Bravia. Typical of Sony: Great picture quality. Images crisp and color is vivid. Excellent construction. Unit weighs much less than my previous Bravia Cons: the remote is too small for adults’ fingers. Sony no longer has audio output jacks except one optical port. So, you’ll have to retire old wired headphones (I loved my Sony over the ear headphones). Everyone is moving to Bluetooth and this model is no exception. The built in speaker is marginal. However there is a sound equalizer in the settings. Helpful for us old folks.

Great Picture - Learning how to use it.

I replaced my 5-year-old Sony LCD television with this one. I wanted the much faster processor that the Bravia 5 series televisions have. The picture of my old Sony was very good, and this one takes the image to a higher level. The image is sharper without adjusting the sharpness, and there is more depth, and a bit of a 3D effect that is more noticeable than in my previous set. I mostly watch sports and still have motion blur. I hope to adjust it out. Even though I have fast internet service, YouTube TV still lags and hangs up sometimes when using the back button. I am beginning to believe that it is the streaming service, not the TV. In summary, the new Sony is a refinement over my 5-year-old Sony. The faster processor and the Mini LED design are the main improvements that I see.

To help reduce the motion blur you're seeing during sports, we recommend going to Settings > Display & Sound > Picture > Motion and adjusting the Motionflow settings; specifically, try setting Smoothness to a higher level to help the TV's processor track fast-moving objects more effectively. Regarding the YouTube TV lag, you are likely correct that the service or app itself is the bottleneck, but ensuring your TV's software is fully updated can often help the processor handle those navigation commands more smoothly. This TV replaced another Bravia that had begun to develop LED failure along one of its backlight strips. That unit was a 2016 model, and while its picture was really good, it can't compare to the precise backlighting of this new Bravia 5. It has all the best features and performance of the older Bravia, only better. Everything has been refined. The picture is every bit as good as our main TV, a 65" Bravia 950-series.

It's not the cheapest, or the fastest, or the biggest, but it works well and reliably, and it has a great picture. I was replacing a similar Sony which quit after 8 years of constant use. I have a minor glitch with the Zvox sound bar optical audio output, which requires an occasional restart, but it's a rock solid product.

I had one of the first flat screen from Sony. It was a 48 inch Bravia, which I purchased around 2005. Well, it finally stopped working. Of course, I purchaed another Sony tv. This time I purchased a 55 inch Bravia. This tv did not disappoint. Picture is great and sound is excellent because I purchased a sound bar, also a Sony. I only buy Sony tvs because they last. That is why they are a lttle bit more expensive, because they last. I bought this tv on sale.

Great picture! Easy set up! Was open box special! Said it was scratched but there is absolutely nothing wrong with it except the remote control was missing! Best Buy employees did get us one but we left it at the register lol! We have always had good luck with Sony branded products!
