I have the a7Riii & iv for megapixel images, where cropping is an important tool. However, the frames per second were lacking for action images. I lacked the ability to capture high speed action sequences in the detail that I desired. The a9ii became my go-to camera for action. One of my loves is radio control planes. The quick focus and continuous tracking are key to good images. Love everything about this camera. Been shooting images since the mid-60s. About as good as it gets! Recommended.

Brilliant camera Pros: consistent auto focus Black out free in electronic shutter mode 20FPS Ergonomics grip, well balanced Endless buffer not really but pretty close Color science Cons Old menus, big learning curve if not familiar with the Sony system. Limited custom keys

Absolutely outstanding! Continuous autofocus is near perfect switching automatically between eye, face or flexible point on the fly. 20 frames per second, silent or camera generated click without viewfinder blackout! No shutter roll! Huge buffer, hard to fill even with 20 fps. Small, light, plenty of great native lenses! Even if you’re not professional sport photographer this will take shooting kids in action, animals or anything that moves to another level!!!!

The speed of this camera it’s superb. The AF it’s too fast. As soon as you push the button whatever it’s on the frame it’s sharp, that simple. At 20 FPS you have a hard time choosing which image to keep since they all in tack sharp in focus.

Switch from Canon 1DX2 and this camera exceeded all my expectations. Takes a lot of learning don’t get me wrong but definitely worth while with so many features. A92 is lightning speed. Fasted AF of any camera I ever used. I can shoot sports surfing astro all of the above with plenty Megapixel to print.

Even with the Alpha 1 becoming the new speed king, the a9ii is nothing to frown about. If you’re in need of blazing fast AF, quick-access to custom configurations, and a seemingly endless buffer, this former Sony flagship is still a winner! 24 megapixels isn’t as great for cropping for shots that are destined for print. But for those posting primarily to social media outlets, cropping from 24mp still works. As others have mentioned, your new “problem” will shift from “which shot is actually in focus?” to “which of all these in-focus shots should I keep?!” You may want to invest in some additional photo storage space for your workflow. *wink*
