It can function while plugged in if you have the concern of it dying while you're using it, and has a great battery life. The only concerns I have is the design being as open as it is provides plenty of opportunities for debris to directly rest on the internals, possibly leading to irreparable issues down the road. The second is having to constantly turn off and back on the mouse to get it to connect when I first start up my PC, but that may be a problem on my end. Otherwise, excellent and responsive mouse that has been a great replacement to my old one.
