Q: To Connect to the internet does it connect with cables or wireless?
A: Hello, The DVR connects to the internet with an Ethernet cable.
Q: can the swan cameras be connected to night owl cables?
A: Most Night Owl wired system use BNC connectors to the cameras. The power cable section is the same in the newer Night Owl, Lorex, Zmodo, Q-See and Swann systems.
A: By default the system will loop record you can change it if not wanted. And as far as I know setup will work with out internet. I record continuesly since I’m still trying to figure out my motion and pit sensitivity, I can record for roughly 6 days before it overwrites itself.
Q: Does it have audio? Can u hear people talk or is it judt video?
A: The cameras that come in the system are video only, however the DVR can record audio, you could add on cameras that also have a microphone on the other 4 channels.
Q: Does the system record sound/voice?
A: This model's DVR has the capability of recording sound as well as picture, but the cameras that come with them do not pick up sound. You can buy cameras that have a microphone built into them and add them to this system.
A: The unit comes with a 60 ft cable for each camera and if you buy the 100 ft extension cables they can link together with the couplers that come with the 100 ft cable. I have done this on a couple cameras and had no degradation of the signal.
Q: I want a 5th camera. What swann cameras are compatible to add.
A: The Swann PRO-5MPMSB bullet camera or the PRO-5MPMSD dome cameras are recommended. You can use a camera with less megapixels, but it will be quite grainy if you use a less quality camera. A higher quality camera, such as a 4k camera will only give you the same quality of picture, as that is set by the DVRs video.
