Synecdoche, New York is a truly amazing film; an experience which will resonate with you for a long time, although I suspect there will also be many who don't have the patience nor the psychological inquisitiveness to see this film through; and that's a shame because it richly rewards those who do. I bought this disc to be able to watch it again, at my own leisure, and I shall keep doing so for years to come. I shall not give anything away, but suffice it to say Philip Seymour Hoffman is astonishing in this film, but it is well cast through and through. You must watch this film, although I'm warning you: if all you've watched are action blockbusters, you may be frustrated. The rest of us can relish a film from one of the truly great minds in US film. I will add that the film-transfer is at best so-so; this film screams out for a new 4k transfer!! But it's worth it anyway!!
