Plewniak Cappella Dell'Ospedale Della Pieta - L'eleganza Capricciosa - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Stefan Plewniak writes of his new with the Cappella dell'Ospedale della Pieta InchIt is like rock and roll for a violinist to discover his music. So many different patterns within a definite form. So much passion in Vivaldi to push our instrument to it's limits, as far as he could. For me, this music expresses the joy, sun, excitement, vitality, passion, and all the feelings and experiences you encounter in Venice, including the light, different smells, colors of the sky and buildings, the sounds of the crowd, the special energy of the people. Vivaldi's music is strongly connected to the Carnival. Even if mainly operas were written for that period, the music business was strongly focused on this, the most festive time of the year. I feel that instrumental music was no less affected by this Carnival energy than opera.Inch Album Tracks 1. Violin Concerto RV 273 in Mi Minore 2. Violin Concerto RV 237 in Re Minore 3. Violin Concerto RV 177 in Do Maggiore 4. Violin Concerto RV 242 Per Pisendel in Re Minore 5. Violin Concerto RV208 Il Grosso Mogul in Re Maggiore

J. Massenet - Werther: Opera Explained - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

This series introduces, in words and music, the plot and background of major operas. Using the principal themes and arias, taken from the Naxos recording of the complete work, Thomson Smillie is informative yet entertaining, enabling the listener to get more from this remarkable art form.Massenet's Werther combines a deeply tender story with music of beauty and eloquence. One act alone contains two of the greatest arias in the repertoire the mezzo-soprano aria 'Va! Laisse couler mes larmes' and the tenor's 'Pourquoi me rèveiller'. In their sentimental power and melodic richness these arias encapsulate the qualities that account for the universal popularity of this great work. Album Tracks 1. Introduction 2. Ballet in French Opera 3. French Opera in the 1800S 4. Other French Opera Composers 5. Goethe and the Plot of Werther 6. Prelude and Opening of Act I 7. Charlotte Enters 8. Charlotte and Werther Return from the Ball 9. Act II, Three Months Later 10. Albert Confronts Werther 11. Charlotte Discourages Werther 12. Act III; Prelude and 'Letter Scene' 13. Sophie Comes to Cheer Up Charlotte 14. Charlotte and Werther 15. Act IV, Werther's Apartment 16. Tout Est Fini

Nomeansno - Sex Mad - VINYL LP

In the annals of punk, few albums hit with the seismic force of Nomeansno's S*x Mad. Released in 1986, this was more than a record, it was a detonation. Amid the Cold War and the Reagan era's cultural tension, S*x Mad erupted as a raw, furious, and utterly fearless statement that redefined what punk could be.From the opening blast of InchDad,Inch Nomeansno made it clear they weren't following anyone's blueprint. The Wright brothers Rob and John, alongside guitarist Andy Kerr, forged a sound that fused hardcore intensity with the precision of jazz, the elasticity of funk, and the cerebral bite of art rock. The result was unlike anything else emerging from the scene at the time.Lyrically, S*x Mad dove headlong into alienation, addiction, and societal rot. These are subjects punk had tackled before, but rarely with such intelligence and emotional gravity. Rob Wright's snarling vocals and razor-edged bass lines delivered every word with conviction. Even the controversial cover art, an original painting by Andy Kerr was censored by some retailers,. This just underscored the band's willingness to confront discomfort and provoke dialogue.Recorded at Profile Studios in Vancouver with producer Cecil English (D.O.A., Subhumans), S*x Mad captured the raw electricity of Nomeansno's live shows while revealing the intricate musicianship that set them apart from their peers. Though critics at the time didn't always know what to make of it, S*x Mad has since become a cornerstone of experimental punk. A record that influenced everyone from the Melvins and Primus to Faith No More and System of a Down (and that's just to name a few). It's daring blend of aggression, intelligence, and innovation continues to inspire new generations of musicians and fans.Nearly four decades later, S*x Mad remains a masterclass in musical defiance. It remains challenging, exhilarating, and utterly timeless
