The TCL 75” QM8L Google 4K TV arrived well packaged in the box. Unpacking was pretty standard for a large TV. Remove the outside plastic packing and the straps. Open the top of the box and remove the packaging. Lift the box over the TV. You now have access to the TV. I will be using the TV stand instead of mounting the TV on a wall. So I removed the TV stand and associated hardware. The assembly of the TV stand was very straight forward. Just make sure you follow the instructions. You have a choice as to how high the TV will be in the stand. I chose the lowest setting for mounting the TV on the stand. Leave the packaging on the TV as you will want to lie the TV flat in order to attach the stand to the rear of the TV. You can review all of the specs and features on the website. My review will discuss the TV set up and my experience using the TV. Setting up the TV was pretty easy. I had an issue with the remote working at first. I removed and switched the batteries and then the remote worked fine. When you turn the TV on, you will see a QR code to scan. After you scan the QR code, you are walked through the set up of the Goggle TV. I am using an ethernet connection. The TV supports up to Wifi 6. I tried Wifi as well and there are no issues. I had already connected all of my cables including ethernet. So when the TV was turned on, it detected my receiver and connected to it via the HDMI cable I connected to the eARC HDMI port. Nice! Sometimes people have issues with eARC. It is important to use a certified good HDMI cable. If you do not have one, make sure to add it to your TV order. The TV software update only took about 5 minutes to complete. In the Google Services section, I turned Help to improve Google TV to off. I turned the location setting off. Then you choose your app services to use. You can add another Google account at this time. I added another account. I did some research on the settings and this TV is very accurate out of the box. The only change I made was to use Filmmaker mode as this is supposed to be the most accurate. There are many options for adjusting your picture if that is what you want. I do not normally use TV apps. Apparently Dolby Vision 2 Max will be supported with a future firmware update. Nice! I did test the built-in speakers as you may want to use the built-in speakers. For Audio Output you select Internal Speaker and Subwoofer. The speakers are made by Bang & Olufsen. The sound is surprisingly good for built-in speakers. There is a Beosonic option in the menu if you use the internal speakers. Under Beosonic you can choose options like - bright, relaxed, energetic and warm. I have my antenna connected to the TV. I scanned for channels and both regular and NextGen TV stations were found. This took about 4 minutes. The TV guide was not there immediately but it did not take long for the guide to load. You will see the regular and Nextgen channels listed next to each other. Tuning in the NextGen channels is very fast. Much faster than another TV I own. I am impressed! The remote is very good! It feels good in the hand and is about the right size IMHO. And it is backlit!!! There are two important features on the right side of the remote. The top toggle allows you to change the brightness. The lower button allows you to change the picture mode. This is a very handy feature! There is a GameMaster setting in the menus. This will improve the latency on the selected inputs. I tested HDM3 connected to a gaming laptop with RTX4070 graphics. There are many gaming options to tweak with this TV (VRR ALLM, etc.) The native TV resolution is 144hz.. I tested Forza Horizon 6 and got a consistent 80+ FPS using 4K. The graphics are very impressive! Honestly I am a little surprised at how good they are. I did not experience any lags or tearing. I selected some apps to load when setting up Google TV. I added a missing one using the app store. You will see the downloaded apps on your main screen. Select the app you want to move. Hold down the center remote button to enable moving the app. Just move the app to the desired location in the app list on your main menu. There is 52GB of total space on the TV. Overall I rate this TV 5 out of 5. It has an amazing picture. I cannot think of anything lacking. There is great off angle viewing. The TV is bright. Gaming is impressive. I bet you will be as impressed as I am. I recommend this TV.

This review covers TCL’s 75-inch QM8L Series SQD Mini-LED 4K UHD HDR Smart TV. Introduced in 2026, the QM8L succeeds TCL’s popular QM8K series. Although TCL’s flagship X11L series is significantly more expensive, the more affordable QM8L inherits much of its premium technology, making it a high-end TV near the top of TCL’s lineup. I have owned this TV for about a week now and in that brief time, I have been really impressed by the color, brightness, and contrast of this TV. We have it located in the master bedroom sitting perfectly on a mid-height wide dresser. Unpacking and initial setup was quite simple. I really appreciate that the stand is a center-mount attractive platform, which really helps with TV stand placement, as opposed to most televisions using wide-mounted spindly legs. The mount assembled quickly with a two-part assembly for the stand and the back of the tv has two stand height options – high or low, which is perfect if you need clearance for a soundbar, which I do have. The whole process took eight small screws to assemble the stand and 4 larger screws to attach the stand to the back of the TV. Planning to use a separate soundbar, I was relieved to see that higher option available, especially since most product photos I viewed showed the TV stand in a low position. The TV itself has a full depth of about 2-inches, but its appearance looks thinner because it features a gradual tapered bevel down to just above one inch at the tv’s edges. It is a classy look with a very thin “ZeroBorder” brushed metal trim, slightly thicker along on the bottom edge. The QM8L packs in plenty of advanced technology, including a Super Quantum Dot Mini-LED display and TCL’s new TSR AI Pro Processor. In practice, that means excellent color accuracy and saturation, deep and uniform blacks, and bright crisp whites that rival premium OLED TVs. While OLED models typically perform best in darker rooms, the QM8L also excels in bright spaces as well. Its picture and sound settings are easy to customize, although most default options worked well for my setup. I did have to install a firmware update during the initial setup process. The screen itself has a high gloss finish, like OLED screens, but reflections are well-tamed at all viewing angles thanks to its WHVA 2.0 Ultra panel. I did not see any degradation in picture quality, even when viewing at extreme angles. As I said earlier, I am using a 2.1 soundbar, but I tested the Audio by Bang & Olufsen speakers by themselves and the sound was perfectly fine, really good in fact. If you are unfamiliar with Bang & Olufsen, they are a renowned Danish manufacturer of audiophile-quality sound systems. TCL does sell their own separate Bang & Olufsen soundbar with wireless subwoofer, or you can just add the wireless subwoofer separately to augment the TV’s built-in sound. That’s certainly a nice touch by TCL, especially when wall-mounting the TV and you do not want a bulky soundbar attached to the wall or TV mount. If I had to complain about anything and it’s nitpicking, the lettering on the remote is white on silver, making it difficult to read in some lighting. The remote is attractive though with its brushed metal face. Also, because it’s a Google TV, I experienced some short 1- or 2-second black screens…my research indicates this is normal behavior with Google TV as the HDMI connections “handshake” at power on. Attaching a streaming box and soundbar with HDMI connections may be to blame or at least contribute to the issue. Using the built-in apps to stream content would more than likely avoid this issue altogether. I think the 75-inch version of TCL’s 8MQL series of 4K televisions is well-deserving of a 5-star rating for its quality features and design, but especially for the premium quality of its picture.

The TCL QM8L Series is my second TCL TV, and this one is a step above my previous TV in terms of features, quality and price. This TV is a serious investment, and needs to reflect that in quality, performance and useability. So far in the 3 days I've had it and been using it, it has had its challenges in terms of set up and functionality, compared to my previous TCL TV. First off was setting it up - we unwrapped it carefully, set it up on top of our console (which fits perfectly), made sure everything was connected and then started the setup process after turning it on. You are guided to use your Google Account to set up the TV which is not unusual these days at all. A QR Code was displayed on the screen, but that QR Code did not work. I received the notification 'App Clip Unavailable'. Thought it was odd, so tried again. Still did not work. Grabbed my wife's phone to scan it, and still it did not work. Grabbed my son's phone and scanned it, and it still would not work, after trying 3 different phones. So now I was stuck with manually setting up the TV though the remote. This obviously took longer and was not as convenient as the usual QR Code set up. Once I was in, logged into my Google account and set up, I then set about turning off the most annoying feature on modern TVs, the adaptive motion setting, where it preempts the next pixels to 'motion smooth'. All this does is make shows look like they have been filmed on elementary school drama project sets and removes the grittier 'realism' from the show. I have never liked that feature and actively turn it off. And I am not alone, my wife hates that functionality as well. Now with that setting off, I set about getting the colors balanced how I like them. The menus are intuitive, although I feel like there were a lot less than there are on my 98" TCL TV as a comparison. I don't feel like I got the depth of adjustment that I had previously. It has been tough to find a great balance with the different settings (Vivid, Dolby Vision etc) - one seems to dark in combination with the adaptive brightness settings, one is, as stated, Vivid, which gave and almost unreal effect to areas in a scene with LED lighting - on screen it almost looked like all of the lights were really turned on and super bright, which was a cool yet weird visual, but then when you had a person wearing a white shirt, it was almost like they had an LED light source in their shirt. It's an odd dynamic. I am an avid Formula One fan, and this TV upgraded us from a 65" TV in our living room to a 75" TV. I am pleased to see, that while this TV is physically larger than our previous TV, due to its narrow edge frame and sleek design, it is not overpowering at all. It looks like it has always been there. Watching the F1 race last weekend, I put the screen into Vivid mode to make all of the liveries on the cars pop as they circulated the track. That made for an great visual experience while watching the race. Later that evening, while watching SILO, I changed the setting to Dolby Vision and that gave a grittier, more subdued view for the show, which helped set the mood. However, this is unusual for me to have to keep changing the viewing mode depending on what I am watching. I have been used to 'set it and forget it' in the past, so changing the viewing mode depending on the content is a little unusual for me. However, I DO like that on the side of the sleek remote control is a button that pulls up the viewing option menu and you can quick access it and change it on the fly. I actually thought that was going to adjust the brightness of the aluminum faced backlit remote, but it doesn't, it actually changes the brightness on the TV! That is a nice touch. As for the screen, the SQD-Mini LED screen offers edge to edge coverage and is great to look at from any viewing angle. I did notice that the screen is very reflective when off, that calms down some when you remove the protective film, and then when the screen is on, you see a lot less reflections, unless the content is dark, and then reflections become very visible again. It would be really beneficial if the screen was somewhat satin, or matte in finish instead. I also notice on the front panel (in front of the screen) that is was not 'flat' and has some waves in it (which hopefully shows in the pictures) and also the back of the TV has a wave in the plastic molding as well. The aluminum look frame is elegant, it frames the screen well, and gives the TV an upscale look. There isn't a TCL brand on the front, just an 'Audio by Bang & Olufsen' script and then on the upper right side is a 'Premium SQL-Mini LED' script as well. This all adds to it's premium look overall, coupled with the slim, aluminum faced, backlit remote. The remote is intuitive and actually operates the Amazon Fire TV we have hooked into the back of the TV. That was a great move which after our initial setup issues, plugging the Fire TV stick in the back of the TV worked perfectly. As for built in apps, there are plenty to choose from and they all seem to work well without lag, however, there does appear to be a black screen between choices, which seems to be a 'Google' thing when navigating. I have seen that on other Google enabled TVs in the house. The stand-alone Bang & Olufsen speakers do a great job for a TV like this, but there is no substitute for a dedicated surround sound system, and that is predominantly how I use this system. The remote also controls the audio on my surround sound system, and that was without having to pair it or input a code which was great! Overall, I am still getting used to the settings, as I say, I've had this TV 3 days so far, and have been working out what is best for us - but in that time, I've watched a variety of sports, TV shows on different streaming services, and also movies. I have been impressed with the color output of the screen, the mini LEDs aren't just a gimmick, they do seem to make a big difference, adding color, saturation and vibrance in a way that I have not seen before. I think this is a nice step forward over the previous TCL TV I have, but it also makes it a little more challenging to use, in the fact that 'one size doesn't fit all' when it comes to screen settings. I now have to make a decision when watching something, what is the best overall setting for this type of show, how do I want this to look, rather than just turning it on and watching. I will get used to it, but it is different to how I use my TVs currently. It is intuitive once you get it set up, there is a little delay between turning it on, and getting the channel you desire, be it for gaming, where it sets up the screen resolution and refresh rate for you, or if you are streaming locally from the Google ecosystem, or from a Fire TV in the HDMI port. But once it is on, and to your preferred input, the screen is vibrant, bright, and colorful. This screen has made a big difference to our viewing experience in our living room.

The TCL 75QM8L is a very nice TV. After I got it inside and unboxed, I had a friend help me set it up. I have a wall mount for the TV, but I didn't want to spend the time right now to install all of that, so I just used the included stand. The stand comes in two pieces that bolt together and then bolt to the back of the TV. The pictorial instructions show the TV being placed face down on a large table in order to install the stand, but I didn't have a table large enough to support the entire TV, so I got some semi-soft Styrofoam blocks about 5" thick, then my friend and I sat the bottom edge of the TV on the blocks, giving me a good 3+ inches of play under the middle of the TV to place the foot of the stand and then allow me to bolt the upright portion to the back of the TV. The stand is primarily plastic, with two pieces of reinforcing metal visible in the bottom section. Overall, the stand seems sturdy, I was just expecting something more substantial for a TV this size, but again, I will be moving it to the wall when I have time. Initial setup was very quick; I used my android phone with my Google account and was up an running in minutes. The first thing I wanted to see was how one of my favorite movies (LoTR) looked when streamed in 4K. I was blown away. The room where I placed the TV has large windows and is in full sun most of the day; it didn't matter; this TV is incredibly bright, and this was on the default setting. The colors are vibrant and crisp, and dark scenes are rich and detailed. Even in high motion scenes, all colors look natural and seem to bring life to whatever is being viewed, and the motion is extremely smooth. Another nice aesthetic aspect is that the screen is almost borderless, which I believe will make the TV even more stunning when wall mounted. Before getting this TV, I had read that some mini LED TVs have reduced clarity and color when viewed from even slightly off-center viewing angles, but I really haven't seen anything like that with this unit; the picture looks basically the same even from fairly extreme angles. The onboard sound for the TV is provided by Bang & Olufsen speakers mounted on the back, and surprisingly this does a good job, but the true immersion comes when the sound is fed through a surround sound system. I used both the HDMI ARC and optical outputs for testing, and both provided very rich, immersive sound. But again, if you don't have a surround sound system, the onboard speakers do a good job. Other than the superb picture and sound the TV provides, I found myself absolutely loving the Google TV interface. There are plenty of apps already loaded, and you can install many more. The interface is very intuitive and simple to navigate with the remote. I've been watching many action titles on HBO and Prime, but I've also found myself streaming content from Google's Freeplay and TCL's app.... Walter White and Bob Ross never looked better! Overall, I absolutely love this TV. The picture is incredible, even in a bright, sunlit room, and the interface feels like you've been using it for years, even though you picked up the remote for the first time. If you're in the market for a TV, you should take a look at this one.

TCL’s 75QM8L is an impressive Google TV. It has a very sleek design, with a silver bezel on the bottom and next to no bezel on the sides and top. I mounted this TV in my living room above the fireplace mantel. It fits perfectly. There is a lot of tape and a nice protective layer on the screen that peels off easily once you’ve got it mounted or stabilized – making sure there’s no fingerprints on your screen. This was easy to hang and looks brilliant! Plugging in and turning it on from the remote you’ll hear a little click indicating that it’s coming to life. Initially it needed updating, and it restarted by itself after that. I signed in with my google information and it pretty much knew everything – very intuitive. Getting the picture right took a little bit of time, and another update. After that 2nd update it was very clear, bright, crisp, and motion is spot on. It has an amazing picture that works well in a lit room or a dark one. I added a TCL sound bar and subwoofer using e-ARC and it worked like a dream with no programming needed, and the TV remote worked with it immediately. Now, the only downside to this set would be the remote, which works fine, is a nice silver color, but it is simple. No backlights, no cool features, but it works, and it’s incredibly responsive, no matter where it’s pointing – even if it’s not facing the TV, it will still work. We found that just simply saying ‘Google’ means it goes to work and listens to you – it provided a response just like my Nest or Tablet would. Which is going to be fun. Overall, this is an amazing TV with a great price point and amazing picture – I would highly recommend it if you’re in the market.

First, I use this tv for movies, gaming on Xbox, my PC monitor for gaming, web browsing, and streaming. Before I bought the TCL Q8ML, I went through 2 - 65'' LG OLEDS and 2 - 75'' Sony Mini Led tv's. I have spent thousands of dollars on warranties from Best Buy and thank God I did. The two LGs ended up with terrible burn in, and both of my Sonys had panel failure. After seeing what was happening with these big name tv's I had enough. So I started to look beyond those big names and see what is out there. I am so glad I did because I found the TCL Q8ML. This tv so far is incredible. It is bright, the sound is great, the color of the picture is just beautiful, all four of the tv inputs are 4k 120Hz, and the gaming mode is fantastic. It is hands down better than the Bravia 9 mini led I spent $3500 on. I know people are going to say no way, but that is my experience. I don't leave reviews for anything, but I am so impressed with this tv I had to do it. Also, so I could tell other buyers don't just look at Sony, Samsung, and LG. The TCL Q8ML will absolutely surprise you. For an example, my gaming pc has a Nvidia 5070 TI and was running terribly on the Bravia 9. The tv would stutter and kept switching between screen modes on it's own. Also, for some reason I could only use 1080p at 120hz after a firmware update from Sony. On the Q8ML I have used the 1080p at 120hz, 4k at 120hz, and 1440p at 120hz. It runs so smooth and the picture is so bright and colorful. As I am writing this review I believe the 75'' TCL Q8ML is on sale for $1699.99 and the warranty is $399.99 for 5 years. That is a steal for this tv. The only problem I ran into was I could not see this tv on display. I am not sure why Best Buy didn't have the Q8ML on display it is a 2026 model after all. I checked within 100 miles of me and not one store had one. So I went to Youtube and other websites to see if this tv was any good and if it would suit my needs and I can tell you that it has really exceeded my expectations. I am very happy with the TCL Q8ML and recommend you look into it before going and spending $4000 on a different brand.

This is both my first TCL TV, and I have been excited ever since it was announced. My home currentkly has two OLED TVs (B2 and C5) as well as 2 HDR QLEDs with local dimming (but not MiniLED) from a different brand. The B2 and the two QLED TVs are only capable of about 700 nits for highlights and while the C5 is capable of about 1400. Knowing that TCL had these SQD MiniLED sets coming with 4000 nit highlights, I couldn't wait to see it. #Setup# I installed the TCL 75QM8L in my living room, on an extendable tilt mount. It is replacing the C5 OLED in that room. I knew there would be some tradeoffs, as the OLED is known for its reflection handling and perfect blacks, while the QM8L is dramatically brighter both for highlights and especially viewing in general. Since this is a living area with a lot of natural light, I figured it was a good trade off... it definitely is. Setting up the TV was super easy - it puts a QR code on the screen to scan with your phone and since I already have the Google Home app, it basically did everything for me. It connected the TV to my home wifi network, added my Google account, and automatically added apps that I had subscriptions for like Paramount+ and HBO Max. I ended up connecting a gigabit ethernet USB adapter to the TV's USB 3.0 port instead of using wifi (or the built-in 100mbps port) and it worked like a charm. I then connected my Xbox Series X, Switch, and Onkyo receiver. I found that like my previous TV, it works best to have gaming systems connected directly to the TV in order for HDMI-CEC to work for one-touch play (where the TV automatically turns on and changes inputs when you turn on your Xbox). Connecting my Onkyo receivver to the eARC port has led to pretty much seamless sound. I was surprised to find the QM8L supports DTS-X and DTS-MA output from the TV directly (or passing through from my Xbox)! However, for Dolby it only supports outputting DD+ with Atmos rather than TrueHD from the internal apps. Really my only problem setting up the TV is that it is physically thicker than my other TVs. Since Philips Hue Sync isn't compatible with Google TV, I picked up a Govee Backlight kit with a camera that mounts on top of the TV. I was a little miffed to find the QM8L is so thick that the camera mount required modification to work. In the grand scheme of things this is really a minor problem. But if you've gotten addicted to ambient light strips behind your TV, just know you'll have to get the dremel out before you can use a camera style light kit :) #Using the QM8L# The brightness of this TV is truly mindblowing. I found that my "normal" HDR demo scenes(Encanto's Waiting on a Miracle and Interstellar's tesseract) don't quite do it justice. Fortunately, Project Hail Mary just came out for streaming and it has some scenes that are simply phenomenal in HDR. Yes, this TV's 4000 nits only really come into play for small highlights, but it really excels at larger light sources, like the "VR room" in the Hail Mary or the lights Grace installs in the tunnel when he goes to meet Rocky the first time. The tradeoff in terms of deep black levels is noticeable but not as much as I feared, though reflection handling for direct light sources is a big step down from my OLED. The screen handles direct sunlight very well, but small direct lights like chandelier bulbs end up getting spread out by the screen more than the OLED it replaced. Ultimately the QM8L is MUCH better during the day, and at night the OLED was slightly better. Finally, the razer thin bezel on the QM8L makes it look very impressive on the wall. There's just not a lot of dark space there, almost like the image on the TV is hanging in mid air. App wise, this TV is running Google TV v14. I've been using Shield TV Pros for years, and while that's still "Android TV," the apps are basically the same. The QM8L also has Gemini features built-in, which range from silly video and photo creation capabilities to Gemini powered searches for movies, TV shows, and other content. I liked the search features for different content, but I was sad that it didn't pull from the content hosted on my Plex server and only linked to movies and shows that were on other services I have linked to my Google account. For gaming - this TV is amazing. I had to remember to re-calibrate my Xbox Series X to maximize the HDR effects, but even without that it was simply incredible. It works seamlessly with my XSX and switches to Game Master mode with Dolby Vision Gaming enabled, along with VRR. Even games that you might not expect to receive a boost have moments that are jaw dropping with the amount of light this TV puts out. My wife has been playing Silksong, for example, and there are some areas with bright windows in the background that become so bright they feel like a real part of the story now. One weird quirk with gaming is that it doesn't detect Game Master automatically with my Nintendo Switch (1, not 2). Since I ended up connecting the Switch to the 4th HDMI port directly, I just set Game Master to On instead of Auto, and that took care of it. Not really a problem with the Switch anyway since you aren't using it for stuff besides games. #Final thoughts# This TV is incredible. It's simply amazing that it's so bright, and considering where it is priced in the lineup, it's even more astounding. It's an easy recommendation from me, and that's coming from someone who has been an OLED fan for a long time. If it just supported TrueHD output it would be the perfect TV, but I have a Shield Pro to tide me over for that.

This is my 2nd TCL TV. I’ve been nothing but impressed with this brand after spending just over a year with a 65-inch QM8K. I rearranged my bedroom and decided to upgrade to the 75-inch QM8L since my room now allows for it, so why not?! -------- These QM Mini-LED tvs have TCL, and even more so the deep color system and super QLED they have, have me completely reconsidering ever buying an OLED TV again. This is now the 2nd TV from TCL that just has me in absolute awe and has solidified that mindset that, as long as TCL keeps putting out quality products like this with stunning clarity, colors, brightness that will burn your retinas with pure 4K greatness, design language with the Zero border, this will be my go to brand and lineup for my purchases. --------- You can't get any better than Google/Android TV OS either. With Gemini built in and the hardware/processor TCL packs in this TV, everything is smooth. fluid and fast. Whether you need to cast to the TV via and android phone or airplay from your iPhone, you have all the options you can need as far as compatibility goes. --------- Still. hands down, best stock speakers you'll find in a TV thanks to the Bang & Olufsen. I experienced this with my QM8K and glad to see TCL keeping the same set up for this model. You won't get a better stock speaker experience than this. -------- TCL gives you lots of freedom with customization here within the software, whether its tuning the screen to your liking, sound, you have a lot of flexibility and options which is something I've really come to appreciate from TCL that they provide. ------- If you're a gamer, you get everything you need here to enhance your immerse yourself in your gaming and really bring out the experience to another level. ------- TCL continues to shine for me in every aspect with the TV's I've had in my house and they're a true game changer in my opinion. I keep telling friends and family about my experience as I think you can't get a better TV for all it offers than this line. While I may have went a little crazy with the 75-inch and 65-inch would be a sweet spot for most, especially at the price, you can't go wrong with these premium TVs TCL is pushing out. There are nights where I wish I had this TV in my main room instead of my OLED that cost twice as much, not to mention the regret I have knowing I could have this incredible of a picture that I feel gives me OLED like quality with more features at a non OLED cost. The best value for your dollar without a doubt. Get this TV, you will not regret it.

Great picture quality, Bose speakers provide quality acoustics and home theater experience. Very very bright so you can see every detail in the pictures but you can adjust this to your liking, the google TV feature works perfectly and is super easy to use, TV home page user interface is appealing and easy to use.

What an incredible TV from TCL. The SQD-Mini LED TVs have had a lot of hype surrounding them and now I can firsthand why so many people were excited for this TV to release. The TV is absolutely gorgeous with insanely small bezels and a nice, brushed metal finish. The TV was a bit thicker than I was expecting but I suspect that this TV needs to have a lot of surface area to dissipate the heat from the insane brightness. The back of the TV feels very premium with cable routing clips and routing integrated into the stand. The stand is a bit wobbly, and I managed to slightly bend the metal cover on mine while trying to stand the TV up after installing the stand with the TV facing down. I was able to bend it back and it's completely unnoticeable. Just be more careful than me and you've been fine. The picture on this TV is quite remarkable. In a brightly lit room, I would actually prefer this TV over an OLED because of the ability of the TV to maintain brightness and deep blacks. In a dark room, the picture remains phenomenal with incredibly deep blacks, no noticeable haloing or blooming, even on subtitles, and can do this while still pushing out insane brightness levels. In fact, this is the first HDR TV I've owned that I've not turned the brightness all the way up. I am running brightness at 50 for dark rooms and my family is talking about how they're getting their eyeballs melted still. It's glorious. I watched a few more recent TV shows and movies that I know push colors (Spiderman: Into the Spider-Verse) and bright highlights (Star Wars space scenes and similar) and found the TV to perform insanely well. The TV has very little color gradient banding in dark scenes and maintains bright highlights without ghosting in fast moving dark scenes with bright highlights. Color on this TV is incredible which you would obviously expect. It's quite incredible to see in person actually. I've found the picture to be seemingly very accurate out of the box. Colors are deep but not oversaturated and skin tones look lifelike and accurate. I am running the "Warm 2" setting and no real color adjustment. If you like after image processing, you can boost colors, blacks, edges, and use TCLs "super resolution" and even more with the settings. These are all certainly a personal preference type of thing but if you're into that, you will find them very beneficial to the image you are looking for. I own a home theater system, so I did minimal testing on the sound, but what I did experience was very convincing. The TV does get plenty loud but, of course, no TV will ever be able to compete with a dedicated sound system. It is definitely, BY FAR, the best sounding TV I've ever heard though. Gaming is incredible on this panel with 144Hz ability and VRR. Even if you're a hardcore PC gamer, I think you would find this TV more than adequate. I have been playing through my games catalog on this TV and have found it drastically improves the experience with both its size (75") and dynamic range. Finally, the smart TV experience is phenomenal, and the UI is FAST and snappy and responds instantly to commands. The remote is sleek, has a "favorite" hot key which is super cool (Thank you TCL!) and you can even turn up or down the TV brightness with a dedicated button on the side of the remote. After you see this TVs ability, this will make sense why it's there lol. What an incredible TV and I am insanely impressed by the performance, build quality, fit and finish, and most importantly, the absolutely stunning picture quality. You WILL LOVE this TV and it is worth every single penny you'll pay for it.

The TCL 75-in QM8L his hands down the best TV I've ever owned. From the moment I got it set up I could tell it was special. Not only is the screen expansive, it has tiny, practically non-existent bezels. Colors pop and blacks are on par with much more expensive OLED screens. Mini LED is absolutely the best technology, providing OLED quality at a lower price point. If you decide to turn the brightness all the way up, be prepared to get out the sunglasses. It's rated at 6000 nits. This TV is very bright. This is a great panel for gaming with its 144HZ refresh rate. And something TCL calls game accelerator 288 VRR effectively raises the refresh rate for even smoother graphics. Normally when I purchase a TV I immediately connected to my soundbar. TV sound is notoriously bad. But I have been so impressed with the sound from the QM8L that I've actually retired my soundbar. Other reviewers might disagree, but for me the Bang and Olufsen sound is impressive. Lastly, this is a Google TV. If you like Google TV, you'll like this TV, but there or plenty of inputs for other options. I can't give a high enough recommendation for this TV. I honestly don't know how you couldn't like it.

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks with this tv. I have the 75" model of the QM8L. It is absurdly bright. It's so bright that I have to turn on the ambient light sensor. Colors pop and there is little to no haloing. I like how the rv tells you what version of HDR is running (if applicable).;The remote is aluminum and has handy rockers for Picture Mode and Brightness without having to dive into the menu. I watched so many sneak peaks and early previews on YT before I bit the bullet. This replaced my Sony 65X93L. I don't know how the native audio is since I use the Sony HT-A5000. The TV has dual subwoofers in the back

I first saw the TCL SQD series of TVs at CES 2026 and was immediately drawn to the bright, saturated images and deep blacks. At first I thought I was seeing an OLED but quickly discovered what I think is the best LCD technology you can buy! I chose the 75" model QM8L because I felt that it hit a sweet spot providing most of the capability of their flagship SQD at an affordable cost. The technical specifications are impressive - 6,000 nits of peak brightness with 4,000 dimming zones promises extreme HDR highlights partnered with a new processor with the chops to keep the torch-like potential brightness under control. There is also plenty of brightness to coax the most out of the extended color depth that the Super Quantum Dot technology enables. In fact, I have had to decrease the maximum brightness level to around 30% in order to avoid eye discomfort when full screen scenes are displayed! I have also discovered a similar issue with the extreme color saturation SQD provides. You really need to cycle through the picture presets to find the image setting that looks best for your room and for the media you are watching. It is very easy to end up with an almost cartoonish, neon bright color palette if you just rely on default settings. For example, unlike other displays that I have watched, I find that the "Movie" setting looks more accurate to my eye than the "Film maker" mode! And that choosing one of the dimmer presets actually delivers a more pleasing SDR image as well! The new WHVA 2.0 "Ultra Panel" with its "UltraColor Filter" provides the best off-axis viewing of any LCD panel that I have watched. It needs to be noted that this television has the most comprehensive suite of supported video and audio formats that I have found. This includes Dolby Vision, HLG, HDR 10+ and HDR 10. Surround audio support includes Dolby Atmos, IMAX Enhanced, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Digital and DTS:X. The built in audio system was designed by Bang & Olufsen and offers built-in subwoofers, surround channels, and a center channel. And, even though I use an external sound system, the configuration offers a reasonable Dolby Atmos experience without having to add anything else. I should also mention that TCL has designed their own wireless external speakers and subwoofers if you want to enhance the sound further while still staying in the product family. There is one fly in the ointment for me and that is the TCL remote. The device is designed with sharp edges along its length and I find that very uncomfortable to hold in my hand. Also, TCL has provided dedicated buttons along the right edge of the controller for brightness and picture preset. That function is very welcome. HOWEVER, it is almost certain that you will inadvertently trigger them when you are holding the unit and trying to perform other button depressions from the top-mounted controls. I am hopeful that I will find a way to get this to fit my hand so that I can avoid these issues! Overall you need to see this TV in action. The incredible color and brightness along with one of the most comprehensive feature sets in the industry will leave you impressed. A definite thumbs up!
