    Great game for horror fans

One of the best looking games out right now. The story is good and has the resident evil/dead space vibe. Only downside is the melee combat is clunky.

Great Start to a New Kind of Survival Horror

Great and new survival-horror IP that is filled with phenomenal and frightening creature designs, an interesting story, plenty of scares, albeit running a tad linear but choke full of tension every step of the way. Controls reminded me of Silent Hill Homecoming, and is a bit difficult to master at first. You will get frustrated at first until you have mastery of the dodge mechanics and enemy attacks. Best part of the game? The many various death sequences based on enemy type—they’re very gruesome!

    Solid horror with exceptions.

Graphics are truly phenomenal. One of the best looking games on the Series X. Callisto Protocol really shines with its atmosphere and sound design and thats where this game is sucking me in. Interesting enough is that this game isnt overly scary but rather kimd of keeps you on your toes throughout. Some may prefer that, others will be disappointed. I dont understand the hate with the combat and more so the dodge mechanics. The key is patience, let them come to you and respond. Comboing melee and the gun is awesome and effective. Story was a bit short but I enjoyed it for what it was. Medium difficulty is the sweet spot. Easy can alleviate a lot of frustration with the dodge mechanics for some people. Id say its worth 40, not 60.

Dead Space fans will like it

I’m only a little more than an hour into it but am enjoying it so far. The graphics on Xbox Series X look amazing. The actors are immediately recognizable. The audio with surround sound adds to the ambiance and sense of dread. The controls are a little stiff for this generation of games I’d expect a little more these days but horror games are more about atmosphere than pure combat and this game so far definitely delivers on that. It feels like a spiritual successor to Dead Space in many ways. If you liked that game this one will be up your alley.
