About this product
Blessed with a formidable front woman in Brett Anderson, a guitar heroine in Allison Robertson, and a pummeling rhythm section in bassist Maya Ford and drummer Torry Castellano, The Donnas were one of the greatest punk bands of the '90s, male or female, bringing a uniquely hedonistic yet feminist viewpoint to the genre. And here is where it all started; recorded when they were still in high school, The Donnas' 1997 debut was and will forever be one of the most infectious, sing-along slabs of punk ever waxed. Owing no small debt to the Ramones (all the way down to their sharing of InchanonymousInch names), the girls gleefully turn the S*x, drugs, and rock and roll dials up to 11, except this time it's the females that are looking for some action (InchI wanna huff all nightInch and InchI'm gonna get in his pants tonightInch are two representative lyrical lines). And for our Real Gone reissue of this classic, you are getting The Donnas raw and unfiltered... that's right, we actually scored the original quarter-inch 2-track master tape to the album, so you're getting an all-analog version of this punk-rock masterpiece. Band commentary just adds to the fun. Clear with black and purple InchinksplosionInch PET plastic pressing... Let's Go Mano! Album Tracks 1. Hey I'm Gonna Be Your Girl 2. Let's Go Mano! 3. Teenage Runaway 4. Lana & Stevie 5. I'm Gonna Make Him (Tonight) 6. Huff All Night 7. I Don't Wanna Go 8. We Don't Go 9. Friday Fun 10. Everybody's Smoking Cheeba 11. Get Rid of That Girl 12. Now, with the full cooperation of the band, Real Gone Music is reissuing their first four albums on vinyl. With the of 2001's Turn 21, the band was legal, and God help you if you tried to keep up with them if they showed up at your neighborhood local. Which they just might have... cuz this 2001 album chronicled the highs and lows of being on tour and on the prowl with songs like Inch40 Boys in 40 Nights.Inch It also captured the full emergence of Allison Robertson as a guitar goddess, joining Angus Young as an officiant at the marriage of Gibson and Marshall. It's no wonder, then, that this album led to The Donnas' signing with Atlantic... these women-no-longer-girls were ready for the major leagues. Includes an LP-sized insert (instead of the original's CD booklet) featuring added band commentary. Remastered for vinyl by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision... and pressed in Blue InchIce QueenInch vinyl! Album Tracks 1. Are You Gonna Move It 2. Do You Wanna Hit It 3. 40 Boys in 40 Nights 4. The Donnas Bitchin' (2-LP Expanded, Remastered Lavender Vinyl Edition) This 2007 was put out by The Donnas' own Purple Feather tag, and marks a return to the girls' glam metal and punk roots after the classic rock leanings of Gold Medal... they've escaped the major tag machine, and are ready to have a good time! Singalong songs like InchWhat Do I Have to DoInch and InchDon't Wait Up for MeInch have definitely entered The Donnas' canon, and tunes like InchSave MeInch confirm that this band's ability to set a hook in a chorus remains unabated. For this first-ever reissue, we've rounded up an entire side of bonus tracks, including the two songs (InchRandiInch and a cover of InchSafety DanceInch) that were only available on the vinyl , a track (InchNew Kid in SchoolInch) that was previously available only as a download, two outtakes (InchWe Own the NightInch and InchShe's Out of ControlInch) that showed up on the Greatest Hits Vol. 16 comp, and a track that only came out in Japan (InchCan't Keep It a SecretInch). The whole thing's been remastered for vinyl by Mike Milchner at Sonic Vision, and our gatefold-plus-insert once again includes fresh commentary by Brett Anderson aka Donna A. Bitchin' comes in a double scoop of strawberry with black swirl vinyl... THE DONNAS / BITCHIN' Deluxe Edition Album Tracks 1. Bitchin' 2. Don't Wait Up for Me 3. Wasted 4. What Do I Have to Do 5.
