About this product
Vinyl LP pressing. Independent music from the West Coast of Scotland has always had a kinship with psychedelic pop music from the West Coast of America. Orange Juice loved the Byrds, Teenage Fan club wanted to be in Buffalo Springfield, the Pastels adored the Electric Prunes. Dream Boys are a modern-day trans-Atlantic love affair realized. Consisting of three Americans and one Scotsman, the group filters the spirit of Postcard Records through the rural haze of the Paisley Underground; pure pop with nods to New Zealand's Flying Nun Records and Australia's the Church. Psychedelic in the truest sense, the band's self-titled debut album floats around the notions of time and space, love and heartbreak with a range of emotion and introspection. One can't imagine these songs coming from any other band or from any other time other than now. A Californian sun rises on a Glasgow street, rain falls during an Indian summer - Dream Boys lies somewhere in between this musical dream, in love with pop music with a sincerity unmatched.

Vinyl LP pressing. 2014 from the Indie Rock band. By the end of winter last year, the Men had pared a huge crop of demoed songs down to 13. With their plans to take a break foiled by their own work ethic, they decided to record those songs before their 2013 album New Moon came out. They booked two days at Brooklyn's Strange Weather studios, clocked in, and tracked all 13 songs entirely live, even including a horn section. Eight songs from those sessions made the final cut for Tomorrow's Hits. This is their first album recorded in a high-end studio and, appropriately, the result is their most high fidelity album to date. That being said, it is still an incredibly straightforward record. Tomorrow's Hits is a concise collection of songs that nonetheless expands the band's ever-evolving musical palette. It's full of genre-bending risks, but it reinforces the overarching theme that has come to define it's makers The Men are a great Rock band. Album Tracks 1. Dark Waltz (5 15) 2. Get What You Give (3 22) 3. Another Night (5 30) 4. Different Days (4 33) 5. Sleepless (3 13) 6. Pearly Gates (6 19) 7. Settle Me Down (4 59) 8. Going Down (3 43)
Vinyl LP pressing. With their fourth full-length album released in as many years, The Men proudly present the sweeping New Moon, the most intensely personal and immersive installment yet. Never content to draw on the same methods twice, nor to recline under the heel of expectation, The Men quit the city in early 2012 to head for Big Indian, NY - transforming a remote Catskills locale into a full-fledged stray dog studio home. Entering with only the most skeletal sketches, the house was selected as an incubator for it's technical limitations. Album Tracks 1. Open the Door 2. Half Angel Half Light 3. Without a Face 4. The Seeds 5. I Saw Her Face 6. High and Lonesome 7. The Brass 8. Electric 9. I See No One 10. Bird Song 11. Freaky 12. Supermoon
