Love these movies in the extended version. The space it takes up for all 3 movies is the same as one way back when they were sold individually. Still has all the appendices as before. Just in a smaller more convenient package.

The Lord Of The Rings really benefits from being restored to HD. It retains all the same special features including the easter eggs on the DVD set, and the sound settings are incredible. These are my favorite films and now they finally look as good as they do in my memory.

This was a gift but I too love the LOTR films so it is nice to have and watch whenever you like. The extended versions are great.

I bought this for all the behind the scenes footage. Couldn’t find that original content anywhere else. Great deal !

If you love LotR's and don't have the extended editions and don't care about 4K or getting digital versions of the movies, get this. If you like having digital versions and 4K discs, then you should get the 4K boxset. The 4K version of the extended editions come with a redemption code for the digital versions but this Bluray Remastered Extended Edition set does not. This just comes with the Blurays and that's it. The nice part about the Bluray and the 4k remastered versions of these movies is that they look amazing. Everything Peter Jackson had done to them just makes them look great. Don't worry, he didn't do what George Lucas did to the original Star Wars trilogy by adding unnecessary things to the movies. The trilogy was just given a really nice upgrade.

Love the trilogy. Even though I have purchased the trilogy digitally in the past, with the eventual end of physical media(Which I hope is reversed) I wanted to have a physical copy incase google loses the licensing to this and I can no longer access it

Rewatching these movies is surreal, the amount of world building is absolutely unmatched, and Return of the King is personally a top three movie of all time, only complaint would be that all the movies come on two discs, but with how long these movies are, I cant complain much.

Looks amazing. The discs can move aroundminsode the case which isn't great. I was hoping thatbeach movie would be on one disc but it is still still split up on two discs. I imagine this is due to the definition of the the movie. Oh well can't have everything.

What can a man do against such reckless epic fantasy Blu-ray set? If you like lord of the rings and have not bought the movies this is a good choice as the extented edition add more content and the definitive way to watch the trilogy.

The best movies ever, and the extended versions simply are exceptional and really should have been the theatrical versions. You will be pleased with all of the "extra"!

I love this set. The extra (extended) scenes are great but each movie really long. For example, The Return of the King (extended) is 4 hours and 25 minutes long! It's long, but well worth it. The discs played well on my Blu-ray player, with no issues.

Overall, i ended this remaster but there were some things that bothered me. First, I'll get to the positives. The improved color of the film was a nice change. It was more vibrant (but still natural looking) and detailed. The sound was fantastic. The music hasn't sounded this good since i heard it in the theaters. Now, for the things I disliked. The CGI sticks out like a sore thumb now. Not all of it but a good amount, in my opinion. The special effects looked better with the film grain and toned down color pallet of the earlier releases. I even noticed that some scenes that I never thought were fake was created with CGI. Which was kind of disappoiting and it took me out of the film when i noticed them. Some scenes looked like something out of a video game (The Warg attack from Two Towers). The CGI just blended better with the original Extended Editions/Theatrical versions. That's all I had problems with. The main reason I bought this remaster is because the original Extended Edition I bought a few years ago was defective. Every movie after "The Fellowship of the Ring" had issues with the sound. The movie's sound mix got worse with each movie. By the time I got to "Return of the King" it sounded like everyone was whispering but the music and sound effects were louder than I remember. Yeah, it was extremely annoying. Im glad that it was something wrong with my box set and the movie wasnt mixed like that. Im glad I was finally able to watch "The Lord of the Rings" again without stressing about the volume. I was able to just take everything in; the way it's supposed to be.
