Power pop legends The Rubinoos are known for turning bubblegum into gold with ridiculously catchy tunes like InchI Wanna Be Your Boyfriend,Inch their cover of Tommy James & The Shondells' InchI Think We're Alone Now,Inch and the theme song to Revenge of the Nerds. They were the backing band when Jonathan Richman recorded the alternate version of InchRoadrunnerInch and they opened 56 shows for Elvis Costello on his Armed Forces tour. But what's most impressive is that The Rubinoos are approaching their 50th anniversary and penning some of their finest songs to date. InchFrom HomeInch is a homecoming recording of sorts. It reunites the original lineup of the band and was recorded in the same studio where they recorded their first single for Beserkley Records nearly half a century ago. The Rubinoos - The CBS Tapes - Recorded at CBS Studios in San Francisco in 1976, before they were signed to the legendary Beserkley Records, The CBS Tapes captures the Rubinoos as the scrappy, bratty kids they were. It also shows the huge talent and energy of a young band near the beginning of their career, who believed they were unstoppable. This never before released recording is the perfect way to kick off the band's 50th anniversary celebration. Songs performed include Jonathan Richman's InchGovernment Center,Inch InchThe Pepsi Generation,Inch commercial jingle, and several Rubinoos originals Album Tracks 1. All Excited 2. Sugar Sugar 3.
