When I was growing up these were called "famous monsters " after the magazine ",famous monsters ", one of my favorite magazines growing up. I guess they couldn't use that. These movies are great, barely longer than an hourly TV show, they pack quite a bit in. The Black and white picture is rich. Its quite often difficult to get a decent picture with B&W, but this set succeeds quite nicely. A standout is the werewolf, this movie takes place a decade after the others, and is more like a modern movie. But they all are quite enjoyable, a must for collectors. If you're fine with bluray there is an eight movie set that is quite the same as this one. My guess is they broke it into two four disc sets for 4k. Anyway its worth having

I absolutely love this set. I had these movies on DVD, then on Bluray and now in 4k. Each release gets better and better. The visual quality is beautiful and im so glad i decided to upgrade to the set. I would have loved it if the various sequels were included in this release like they were in prevoous sets even if they were not in 4K but its still a great purchase.

Universal Classic Monsters Icons of Horror Collection 4K just released is fantastic! The quality is first class, amazing for films made 90 years ago. If you love the original Universal classic monster films, this is a must have 4K set which also includes the remastered blu-ray editions and is more cost effective than buying each individually. This is a new prize in my collection.

The best iteration of these films EVER. Gray levels, contrast, shadow detail, clean sound, no film splices, crisp black and white details.... The whole nine yards in restoration. I've seen these films dozens of times over my movie/TV watching years and now watching them like this is almost like seeing them for the first time.

Great collection of classic horror films from the 1930s and the 1940s. Each disc has plenty of special features, and it was nice to have digital copies of the films as well. The only downside is that I wish the packaging was standard plastic, and not cardboard sleeves. Also, there is no digital copy for the Spanish version of Dracula, which was kind of disappointing.

Universal Monsters are great I just wish they would have put out the other four movies they put out on the 2K set which were Phantom of The Opera (1943), The Bride of Frankenstein (1935), The Creature of The Black Lagoon ((1954), The Mummy (1932) instead of the 2K Blu-Ray versions of The pictured Monsters! I got them already!

I wasn’t sure how a 4K upgrade would look for a group of vintage b/w classics like this! I was quite impressed! All four titles look superior to their Blu ray counterparts, in particular the first two…Dracula and Frankenstein! Hope this will start a trend of more b/w classic films finding their way to the 4K format

I'm a huge fan of the Universal Classic Monsters films. I was tremendously excited when I saw they came out in 4K Ultra HD. And they did not disappoint. My favorite monster is The Wolf Man, and it was amazing to see the clarity of the film. Eye popping!

Classic monsters has never looked better. 4K resolution really allows the viewer to appreciate the subleties of the black and white cinematography. A worthy art form in its own right.

Listen, if you're even looking at this, you're already sold on UHD as a format. These movies are treasures and they have never looked better- and I'm not sure they can look better. I'm looking forward to volume 2!

Four Great old Horror Monster Movies together on disc. Considering the age of these Movies 90+, the video quality is very good, however I feel like 4K might be a bit of overkill. I don't think I could tell the difference between Blu Ray and 4K on these Classic Monster Films. (I Feel you can only make them so clear and sharp ) They were Masters at their craft of Monster Movies in their day.

Love these old classic, Universal monster movies, and these new 4k discs are gorgeous, especially Dracula and Frankenstein. Noticeably cleaner image and better contrast than than the prior blu-ray releases.

Awesome 1930's Monster Movies. 4K is unbelievable for clear picture. I remember as a kid and it was great seeing them again. Just awesome for 90 year old films.
