Upgraded last April from a 60 inch tv to a 120" 1080p projector that cost around $250. It was traditional long throw with bulbs. It was impressive at first for my new home theater but after a little over a year I decided I needed an upgrade. I did a lot of research and settled on this Vava. Its fantastic! Super bright, immediate noticeable upgrade in image quality and watching 4k YouTube content or UHD movie are incredible. It being laser and ultra short throw was also a huge improvement. You can't even tell its a projector and not a screen. And I don't even have a proper screen yet. Easy to use and set up. It is a rather large unit so need some space to set it up. Haven't tried the 3d yet and I'm using external surround sound so can't comment on the built in speakers. Very happy and impressed with it so far. Love it!

This was my first short throw projector that I initially loved. The first issue I came across with this projector was when I realized the bottom left corner of the projection had a shadow that wouldn't disappear no matter how many updates and factory resets, I noticed about a month in but assumed it may have been because I didn't have an ALR screen. I eventually got an ALR screen and it still didn't fix this issue. However, it was relatively small issue so I brushed it off. Recently, I came across another issue where there is a small white dot/pixel that shows up whenever the projector is on. I've confirmed that it is not on my projector screen or on the projector lens. This issue finally led me to VAVA's customer service. Because when I purchased my projector, there was an insert that allowed me to extend the warranty by 1 year after registering the product (See attached photo). Customer service would not honor the extended warranty promotion due to the promotion ending?? even though I registered my product before the promotion ended. Something that always bothered me about the user interface of this projector, whenever adjusting the volume, a big circle with the volume level pops up in the middle of screen and is quite annoying. Don't waste your money on this product. Its buggy, the user interface is trash, and customer service is not great after all these issue, I would not suggest. Would suggest sticking with a more reputable brand like Epson. Luckily my credit card has an extended warranty benefit. Love the short throw laser projection technology but this company is cheap.

Great picture! The projector itself is bigger than I thought but projects a great picture! Make sure to get familiar with the formatting tools to fit the picture to the screen.

This VAVA 4k projector is a perfect 10, on a 5 point scale. Why the 1 point on this 5 point scale? You see, I LOVE this projector in my apartment. It is stunning, to say the least. Its great on the stand, but I want to find a wall mount for it. I need the floor space for my Electric Hunting Mountain Bike. VAVA what do you recommend to mount it on the wall?

Bought this projector to stage a theater room for a house we were selling (didn't want the hassle of mounting a projector and having to rewire) - this sound and picture blew us away! the built-in sound will surprise you and the picture actually is pretty go; we initially bought this without the specific screen and the picture was fine..but better with a screen made for short throw projectors

Best movie projector ever !!!! I didn’t know if I was gonna actually like it because I couldn’t figure out the settings ! I got on YouTube and watched videos just like everyone else and I was able to complete the setup!

The product came in good shape and I really enjoy watching movies and Netflix on a big screen. All in all this is a great product and the 110 inch display fits perfectly on my wall and makes a great home theater to watch movies with my friends.

The quality of the picture and sound is great but all the added goodies are just meh. None of the apps work I can’t download them to my Home Screen or utilize them for that matter. I can’t even screen share from my phone to the device as advertised. So with that being said I wouldn’t recommend anyone else to waste their time buying it. I got an Apple TV for Christmas that I connected projector. Which is ridiculous to have to do when it’s supposed to be a smart projector. I contacted customer service and no one was able to help me without me being charged extra.

The quality was great at first, but then dots started appearing. I contacted the manufacturer for repairs, and they said they would get back to me. It has now been five months with no response.

This projector really does a good job and would recommend to others to buy it.

I must say that I was a little skeptical considering that I was not familiar with the VAVA name. I did a lot of research on the projector and finally decided to purchase the package of the projector and the screen. The set up was straight forward but did take some time to the square the image on the 100" screen. Once completed the picture quality is amazing. I had a Samsung 75" OLED tv. This rivals the quality of it!

Its fine for its price but i'd strongly recommend paying a slight premium and getting the vava chroma instead, theres a huge difference in quality.

When it works, the projector is excellent. Unfortunately it started having problems 3 months after purchase.

I am shocked by how well this projector performs. I was searching for a 4K projector and had several different models that I looked at from different manufacturers. I did not necessarily need to go with at UST projector. In fact, I had narrowed my search to the following: The Epson 5050UB (long throw), Epson LS500 (Ultra Short Throw), Optoma P2 (Ultra Short Throw), and coming in a distant fourth...the VAVA 4K (Ultra Short Throw). I had spent months doing research. In fact, I actually came across a 5040UB projector for a really cheap price secondhand. So I thought I was set. One day, I happened to notice the VAVA was on sale from Best Buy for under $2000. I himmed and hawed all day, but decided to purchase with the thinking that if I did not like it, I could make my money back by reselling it. My fears: -I had read that the color accuracy on the VAVA was terrible. Many reviews had stated that the reds were pushed too greatly, and that there was a tint over the picture. -3D was a huge must for me. Though the VAVA supports 3D, it was by mean of a firmware update, and I had read many people were underwhelmed by the 3D on this device. This was actually what gave me the most pause. -Fan Noise. I had been seeing reports that this projector gets loud. -Lack of brightness. This projector was said to not perform well in ambient lighting. After owning the projector for a couple of weeks, I am happy to report that, though these fears all have some basis, I have found workarounds to most, and the others do not bother me as much as I thought. -First off, color accuracy. The reds definitely get pushed on this projector. After getting some different settings from a few online sources, these were the settings I ended up going with: Color Mode: Custom Brightness: 48 Contrast: 45 Saturation: 37 Definition: 50 Tone: 43 Red Gain: 1012 Green Gain: 852 Blue Gain: 777 HDR: Off I tried these settings with HDR on first and the reds blew up. The picture was saturated with color, but did not looks natural. I tampered with the settings more, but found that the best thing to do was switch HDR to off. Once I switched off the HDR, everything looked great! Now one of the biggest selling point of 4K has been HDR, so was this projector actually worth it? I would say yes. Though HDR is not worth anything on this, the increase in resolution is noticeable. Switching between regular Blu-Ray and UHD Blu-ray is not as subtle as some might have you believe on a 100" screen. So even without HDR, I would say the 4K is absolutely worth it at this size. With the above settings and HDR off, I see no tint or overpowering colors, but a clean, natural, and sharp image. -Next, 3D. I have a large library of 3D blu-rays. I have actually not upgraded my TV past 1080p, because I love 3D and the new TVs do not offer it. 3D on this projector requires manual switching, which is not so bad (about three clicks on the remote). I started with Avatar in 3D. The image displayed as two images, one on the top of the screen, and one on the bottom. When I accessed the 3D menu on the VAVA, it presented me with three options: left/right, top/bottom, screen encapsulation. Since the image I saw was split horizontally, I chose top/bottom. My heart sank. The 3D image displayed gave me an absolute headache. The picture had depth, but seemed to line up imperfectly. It almost felt like I had astigmatism. On top of that, there were green bars that flickered at the top and bottom of the image. I thought this would be a deal breaker, but I decided to try something else. I tried frame encapsulation and voila! The image line up perfectly, and actually, impressively. Unlike my Panasonic plasma 3D TV, there was no ghosting at all. I had not experienced 3D this good outside of the theater. Depth was outstanding, and colors looked great. Of course, the image was darker, but I was very pleasantly surprised. -Third, fan noise. This projector can sing. I am good at tuning things out, but I can see this being an issue for someone that wants absolute quiet during the quiet scenes in a movie. It does not bother me, and to be honest, I have do not even notice it past the first two minutes or so after starting up the projector. The 5040UB definitely wins in this regard. I barely even knew that was on just by listening to it. -Fourth, brightness. This projector advertises something like 6000 lumens, but it ends up closer to 2700 lumens in most professional reviews I have seen. I use a VAVA ALR screen, and even that gets washed out a bit in direct sunlight, though I can still see the picture. If you will be watching in a high-lit environment, you may have to consider a light canon like the Epson LS500 UST projector. Final thoughts: The Epson 5040UB had a better picture, but the convenience of the VAVA won out. Though not as good of a picture per se, this projector is no slouch. I honestly do not feel like I lost out on anything by not getting a pricier projector. I have seen this projector dip a hair under $2000 a few times. At that price point, I feel no qualms about recommending it.

The product is excellent when it comes to projection and image quality. I used it on a wall and amazing quality. The device is Slightly bigger and bulky than what appears in images Basic setup was very easy and I could get it up and running in minutes The fan humming is something that you can noticeably hear, although it’s not disturbing The one aspect I am very disappointed is the smart user interface. The interface is badly designed and not user friendly I struggled for a while and eventually gave up I had to buy a ROKU device and use that as my smart interface Minus the interface I love the clarity of display

Ended up going with the Optoma CinemaX P2 due to a light failure in this one during the return window and another not being in stock to swap it with, but I would have kept it, if there had it. While in use, the image quality was very good. The best part was the contrast balance edge to edge. Getting the screen squared up and in-focus when placement is off center takes a bit of work, but not difficult and works well. Sound quality of the built in sound bar was pretty impressive. Better than many basic sound bars you can buy, but still recommend a full Atmos setup. UST projectors must be very close to and slightly above or below the screen area, so it makes setup a little more difficult if you’ve never had one before. Make sure you study that part if not familiar with placement/setup of UST projectors.

I am honestly impressed with this projector. My previous one was an LGPF1000U which I had been incredibly happy with for the five years that I owned it. Though I do miss the size of my LG projector (it was super easy to travel or move around with it), the VAVA 4k projector is an improvement in almost ever way. The sound bar alone is actually good enough to where you don't need external speakers for a small to mid sized room, at most you'd just add a subwoofer for more bass. The image is better and brighter as well, just to be critical the user interface does suck, but that can be fixed with any streaming stick or gaming counsel (I still use my PS4). Truly happy with this projector and so far it has been worth the price.

Absolutely easy to set up and use. Paired it with Apple TV. Surprisingly good image quality with very decent sound (way above average TV sound), although it’s used with a Sonos ARC system. The effect of large screen size (130 in) on the wall is terrific. Tried to use on a 100 in pull-down screen, it didn’t work well at all as the screen is not flat. Got the unit with $600 discount at Bestbuy, worth it. We have multiple TV units (55 to 85in from plasma to oled), somehow we are constantly drawn to the projection for watch movies.
