Various Artists - Cancionero Sablonara - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Among the Spanish sources from the first third of the seventeenth century, the Cancionero de la Sablonara holds a very special place. It was prepared between 1625 and 1626 for a German noble, Wolfang Wilhelm, who held, among other titles of nobility, those of count palatine and duke of Neoburg and who had visited the court in Madrid between October 1624 and May 1625. This aristocratic music lover showed enthusiasm for the secular vocal music he heard at the court and, at the end of his trip, requested an anthology for his personal pleasure; it was compiled and copied with great care and beautiful calligraphy by Claudio de la Sablonara, main scripter-copyist-of the Royal Chapel. The collection contains seventy-five pieces, including Inchthe best songs that are sung in this court,Inch according to the compiler. This important source, preserved at Munich's Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, features poems in Spanish and Italian metric forms. There are fewer examples of the latter merely eight compositions written in liras [six-verse stanzas] and one sonnet. The Castilian forms, on the other hand, are represented by five romances [ballads] without a refrain, twenty-nine with a refrain, eighteen letrillas [lyrical poems], eleven romances with a lyrical poem at the end, two series of seguidillas, and several decimas [ten-verse stanzas]. Album Tracks 1. Entre Dos Mansos Arroyos 2. Desiertos Campos, Arboles, Sombrios 3. No Vayas, Gil, Al Sotillo 4. Ay, Que Me Muero de Zelos 5. Vistiose El Prado Galan 6. Fuese Bras de la Cavana 7. Si Por Flores Fueres 8. Solo, Triste y Ausente 9. La Morena Qye Yo Adoro 10. Quando Sale El Alva 11. Fillis Del Alma Mia 12. Ya Non Les Pienso Pedir 13. Quiera O No Quiera M Madre 14. Lucinda, Tus Cavellos 15. Desde Las Torres Del Ama 16. Punalitos Dorados 17. A la Dulce Risa Del Alva 18. Quejandose Tiernamente 19.

Sprints - Letter To Self - VINYL LP

Sprints' debut album 'Letter To Self' embodies their substantial evolution over the past 3 years. Transforming pain into truth, passion into purpose and perseverance into strength, the Dublin four-piece have steadily grown in stature, releasing two acclaimed EPs and building a fearsome live reputation. 'Letter To Self' is the sound of Sprints consolidating and levelling up. Exhibiting their most vulnerable moments and imbuing their visceral garage-punk with a palpable sense of catharsis that we can all benefit from. Inspired by Savages, their sound matured into energetic and abrasive garage-punk, synthesising influences ranging from early Pixies, Bauhaus, Siouxsie Sioux, IDLES and LCD Soundsystem. Singer, guitarist and lead-songwriter Karla Chubb tackles her inner turmoil head-on, and uses her to address inequality and issues close to hear heart, like the campaign for 'Repeal The 8th', and women's ongoing fight for bodily autonomy, struggles with self acceptance, identity, mental health struggles, sexuality and catholic guilt. For their debut album the band set about transforming so-called Inchnegative energyInch into an opportunity for communal catharsis and healing. Karla Chubb explains sums up message that lies at the very heart of the album InchNo matter what you're born into, or have experienced, there's a way to emerge from this and be happy within yourself.Inch Album Tracks 1. Ticking 2. Heavy 3. Cathedral 4. Shaking Their Hands 5. Adore Adore Adore 6. Shadow of a Doubt 1. Can't Get Enough of It 2. Literary Mind 3. A Wreck (A Mess) 4. Up and Comer 5. Letter to Self
