This Waykar 80-Pint Energy Star Dehumidifier is a powerful and highly efficient option for controlling moisture in large spaces up to 5,000 square feet. When I first began researching, I knew that whatever I purchased had to be a 24/7 workhorse. With summer fast approaching, I could see small water droplets forming on the vapor barrier in the basement of my split-entry Midwestern home. Whatever I chose had to be continuous and self-draining into a floor drain. This humidifier met all my needs, in a small size and at a very reasonable price. The touch panel lets you adjust the target humidity from 30% to 80%. A 24-hour programmable timer, a washable dust filter, and a power-off memory restart make this so easy to use. If power drops out, it reboots automatically using your last known settings. You can also set the unit to continuous operation, which is exactly what I needed for my basement. I used the optional drain hose supplied with the unit to continuously drain into a floor drain. It is super simple, and there's never a need to drain the collection tank, as the hose bypasses it. For those wondering about shipping, I had mine shipped directly to my house. It arrived via FedEx and in surprisingly excellent condition. It was boxed, taped at every fold, and strapped with plastic shipping straps. This is perhaps the best shipping department I've seen, and I have 40 years in the freight business. It was easy to unbox, with both ends protected by dense Styrofoam preventing the unit from being dropped during shipment. Just remove the plastic and the tape holding the collection drawer, and plug it in. I accessed the quick start guide, and it was up and running in less than 10 minutes. I have had my unit running non-stop since June 11th, and not once has it failed me. In fact, I have to go into the basement to hear if it is running because it is so quiet. I could not be happier with my purchase. Thanks to Best Buy for a great price!

I bought two dehumidifiers. One unit is larger for main home space other unit for hallway between bedrooms. Very pleased with the accuracy of the sensors and how both units stop when set humidity level reached and /or when full. They are easy to move and empty. One unit has a slight "whine" when operating. It was worth keeping as I have purchased one other different brand unit in the past that was quieter but not accurate. Definitely recommend.

Dehumidifier works very well. Located in my basement and for the past 5 weeks has been maintaining the humidity in the mid 40's. I do wish the hose was 3 foot longer. Noise is very acceptable and so much quieter than the previous generation of dehumidifiers. Operating manual is pretty well written. Appearance is very good.
I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this unit. I was looking for EnergyStar and above, and also a very quiet one. It runs in my attic office and the current one I had was so loud I had to turn it off during meetings. This unit runs very quiet. Less noise than my 2 fans that I run on low. It meets my needs in my 600sq ft space just fine. I do wish the bucket was a little bigger. I don't have a drain way up here, so I need to empty it most every day. Iowa has very high humidity and dew point. This my issue though since I don't have a drain.

This dehumidifier has been working great in our basement. It arrived promptly and was easy to get running. It is not loud and has a large tank so it doesn't need to be emptied as frequently. Easy to empty. Would definitely purchase this brand again.

I bought the Waykar 80-pint model for my 1,500 sq ft basement which always smells musty in the summer. Setup was a breeze right out of the box. The digital touch screen is very intuitive, and I love the automatic air swing feature that helps circulate the dry air. What surprised me most is how quiet it is—just a low hum that doesn't bother anyone. Within 24 hours, it pulled the humidity down from 75% to my target of 45%.

I found the Waykar home dehumidifier to be an effective and practical choice for reducing humidity in our South Texas home while helping us avoid running the air conditioner for extended periods. After moving from the Mid-Atlantic region to South Texas last year, we were not prepared for the high humidity or the high cost of keeping the air conditioner running for long periods of time. As I usually do, I researched my options carefully and found that the Waykar home dehumidifier met my requirements. I also appreciated that it is an Energy Star product. I bought the Waykar home dehumidifier approximately six weeks ago, and it has been a very good choice for our 2,700-square-foot house because it helps maintain our indoor humidity level. The unit has an auto-shutoff feature that beeps when the water tank is full. I am in my late 60s and cannot lift too much weight, but the 1.5 gal. water tank has a handle and is manageable for me to pick up and empty in the kitchen sink. Overall, I am very happy to have found a home dehumidifier that works well for my home and family.

I had purchased a different dehumidifier, but it was too complicated to use and difficult to empty, so I returned it and purchased this Waykar dehumidifier. What a great choice! Not only was this dehumidifier less expensive, but it's very quiet, and easy to empty.

We really enjoy this dehumidifier and it works great for keeping our basement dry. We do wish there were better instructions inside of the box to help us set it up and make sure it is working properly. Other than that, it is an amazing tool and we will definitely be recommending it to others. It is also really quiet!

We were happy to find this dehumidifier (a replacement for our previous dehumidifier that stopped working after 12 years) with a large collection bin which is what we needed for our attic that does not have a drain. It came well-packaged with clear instructions and worked great right from the start! Customer service seems solid too including an extended warranty with registration!

My first Waykar purchase. Couldn't be happier. Working flawlessly in my basement. Hooked to a timer so it runs every morning from 1am-6am and consistently pulls close to a gal of water.

The dehumidifier works fine. The disappointment is the advertisement that it holds 80 pints, which it definitely does not. I can’t understand why they would put that it holds 80 pints am I missing something? But it does take the moisture out of the room.

I think I've finally found a brand/model dehumidifier for my basement that does the job! I've had this Waykar 80 pint model for a couple months now and it has worked great in my basement during the summer. This one is doing everything it should on auto cycle and is keeping my basement at 45% humidity or less. It is quiet and I'm able to drain the collected water continuously to my HVAC sump pump. What I really like about it is the price. It cost me way less than comparable GE or Hisense models and it performs as good or better!
