This was a replacement for a different brand of window AC that had failed after taking it out of its post-winter hibernation. The Whirlpool unit has worked well during this hot midwest summer so far, keeping our lower level (+1,000sqft) fairly cool and dry while running on the ECO auto settings, and the noise level even when the fan is running on high is not bad. Its power efficiency with the inverter technology means I don't feel too guilty running it most of the day on really warm days. Can't speak to longevity of course but I hope it holds up for at least a few years until we're ready to switch over to a heat pump for cooling.
