About this product

William Eggleston is a famed photographer and musician credited for iconic album covers such as Spoon's Transference and Jimmy Eat World's Bleed American. 512 was inspired and recorded at the Parkview Apartments in Memphis, Tennessee where Eggleston lived for almost ten years. The apartment was full of art and inspiration cameras, naturally, but also high-end stereo tube amplifiers and objects that you'd rush towards money in hand at your local flea market. But also a gigantic nine foot Bosendorfer grand piano and a massive grand vintage JBL theater speaker console. His home was overwhelmed by music.By recording there the album captures not just his performances, but also the vibe of the place; it often felt as though there were artists lurking in the aether listening along. His visitors over the years were no small change Lee Friedlander, Carl Sagan, Dennis Hopper, Paul McCartney and many others came to see him and listen to his hypnotic InchMusikInch. You can hear local traffic, a dog barking, weather; reality, in other words. But there was another space layered on top, a kind of surreality echoing his music, as you can imagine a gathering of musicians listening in, eager to join him. Thus came along 512 which features the legendary Brian Eno on bells and production from Leo Abrahams (Regina Spektor, Paul Simon, Jon Hopkins).Inch Album Tracks 1. Improvisation 2. Ol' Man River 3. Smoke Gets in Your Eyes 4. Over the Rainbow 5. That's Some Robert Burns 6. Onward Christian Soldiers

Charlotte Cornfield - Hurts Like Hell - VINYL LP

Hurts Like Hell is Charlotte Cornfield's sixth album, the first she's recorded since the birth of her daughter, an inflection point for her as a person and an artist. The album's recurrent themes of personal growth and renewal, of love's perseverance through difficulty and shame and awkwardness, are rooted there. InchThat experience has pulled me out of myself and given me a different outlook on things,Inch she says. InchThe vulnerability and fragility and wildness of it all has made me less focused on self, more zoomed out.Inch Hurts Like Hell is the most open-hearted, full-voiced album of her career, and also her most collaborative. Decamping to Philip Weinrobe's Sugar Mountain studio in Brooklyn, Cornfield was joined by a full backing band, including Palehound's El Kempner, Lake Street Dive's Bridget Kearney, Adam Brisbin, and Sean Mullins, with key contributions by Núria Graham, and Daniel Pencer. Cornfield then recruited Feist, Buck Meek, Christian Lee Hutson and Maia Friedman to sing on the album. Much of Hurts Like Hell's magic happens in the space Cornfield makes for harmony. Taken up by Meek or Hutson, characters are sung into life as if with a brushstroke. When joined by Kempner or Kearney, it's a dazzling facet of the natural, lightning-in-a-bottle chemistry of her band. On InchKitchen,Inch Friedman mirrors Cornfield's sense of a
