Zachary Finnegan - Guidance & Gratitude - COMPACT DISCS [CD]

Guitarist Zacc Harris returns with 'American Reckoning,' a powerful follow-up to his 2017 album 'American Reverie,' reimagining the American folk canon through a modern jazz lens. Featuring Matt Peterson and Lars-Erik Larson, the album deepens it's predecessor's nostalgic warmth with sharper edges and a greater sense of urgency, exploring the tension between past and present through inventive arrangements of traditional songs and music by Stephen Foster, Brian Wilson, and Bob Dylan. Album Tracks 1. Amazing Grace 2. Hard Times 3. House of the Rising Sun 4. God Only Knows 5. Darlin' Cory 6. Another Folk Song 7. You Are My Sunshine 8. I Shall Be Released 9. Masters of War

Small Wonders is guitarist Zacc Harris's most expansive and involving set of compositions yet, the music's palette expanded by the presence of Downbeat InchRising StarInch trumpeter John Raymond and saxophonist Brandon Wozniak along with the dynamic rhythm section and telepathic interplay of Bryan Nichols, Chris Bates and JT Bates. Harris has long operated at a high level on many fronts-improviser, sound sculptor, bandleader-but his compositional intelligence runs deeper than ever on Small Wonders. Album Tracks 1. Ominous Skies 2. Sundials 3. Glass Houses 4. Civil Dawn 5. A Beautiful Life 6. The Void 7. Mixed Signals 8. Apple Jacks 9. Maya Song
