This Zojirushi 5.5 Cup Pressure Induction Heating Rice Cooker is pretty heavy due to its quality. I find the cord to be large and non-retractable, which I don't particularly like. However, the quality of the cooker is excellent, and it is easy to use. I use this rice cooker about twice a week, primarily for cooking Jasmine rice, congee, and porridge; I haven't tried any other recipes so far. I would love to get an extra inner lid and pot, but they are quite expensive. I hope this rice cooker lasts a very long time. I purchased this through Best Buy and the delivery was quite fast. Zojirushi, please make your replacement items more affordable and easily obtainable.

We have had zojirushi rice cookers for decades. Our first one was made in japan and to this day it still works perfectly. It is a 10 cup. We bought a 5 cup around 8 years ago, while it still works but the non stick lining is starting to scratch up. I think because it is not the japanese made model. We got this and the rice it makes is so good. I didn't expect that induction and pressure would make rice so much better!

Okay, let's just get this out of the way -- this thing is insanely expensive. There's NO WAY to justify it's cost! But.... I'm glad to own one anyways! If you love rice, and want the most convenient machine to make the best-tasting rice of your life, you can't go wrong (once you get over the guilt, lol) The rice it produces is an absolute joy. You literally can't screw it up, it's perfect rice every time. Clean up is easy, and the rice still taste great the next day. I owned an analog Zojirushi for over 20 years before this. The quality from this company is phenomenal. Kids love their "rice balls" from this. Good for homemade sushi. Great for curries and stir fries. Haven't tried oats or congee, but might give it a spin just to see!

I was replacing an aged Tiger brand rice cooker that was also from Japan. The Zojirushi does and incredible job cooking a variety of types of rice. I love the added pressure cooker function. The rice comes out right every time! Highly recommend, if you like rice this machine is worth every penny.

I have been eating with rice from a rice cooker for the past 38 years. This is the best rice cooker that I have used for a couple reasons. 1. It make my Japanese rice cooked where each individual grain of rice can be picked up by a chop stick. The consistency is very nice for certain meals. 2. This is best thing to make Oatmeal. I set it and get to do other things without watching the pot on the stove. You need to understand that it takes a bit longer to cook anything on here since it is a Pressure style cooker. Thats a negative when dinner needs to be rushed.
Rice comes out fluffy and perfect every time. Also make chicken & rice with it and cooks the boneless chicken thighs 10 around 190/200F but still moist. Congee comes out good as well.

My wife loves this rice cooker. I bought it as a replacement to a Tiger branded rice cooker we had for 10+ years. You can tell the difference in the taste of the rice. Whether it is worth the money is up to the individual.

This is one of the best rice cookers I've ever had. It makes the mixed grains rice so easy to cook, and no need to soak in the water for couple hours prior cooking.

The rice is soft and delicious. Easy to cook beans. It's just a pity that there is no place to store the code.
