A sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey
|Posted .Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendI great Sci-Fi film that is sorta a sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey from 1968. I originally saw this on VHS but I highly recommend this on Blu-ray. Great clean up job on the print from this 1984 movie.

Ho-hum, but probably best BD of it we'll ever get
|Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. No, I would not recommend this to a friendThis sequel to 2001: A Space Odyssey is ok, not great at all, and feels completely different from the original. It's supposed to be based (much) more closely on the novels than the original movie. The original was much more an artistic vision/approach and almost reimagining of Kubrick's whereas this sequel is a straightforward telling of this part of the novels. Some might like this better than the original, if they found that too slow or pretentious. The BD quality itself is nothing stellar. Pretty ho-hum and could possibly use a better, new transfer, but the movie probably isn't popular enough to ever get one since it hasn't already while the original (2001) already got an excellent new 4K transfer and even had a revival run in theaters couple years ago, so this is likely the best we'll ever get.

Make Contact with this film
|Posted .Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendThis was a very good sequel to 2001. The best thing is you don't need to see 2001 for this movie to make sense. They give you a re-cap at the beginning and the movie takes off. I very good movie from 1984.

2010 new sun.
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendIt is the continuing story of 2001 a space odyssey. 2010 picks 9 years later when the world is in kaos us USSR are at the brink of war yet they are working together to find out what happened to the original ship and Dave the one possible survivor. It climaxes with the monolith changing and something wonderful happens. I love this movie.

Classic movie
|Posted .Owned for 1 week when reviewed.I would recommend this to a friendA really good movie that stands the test of time 37 years later. Nicely remastered for BluRay. Only wish they would've redone this movie in 4k because it would be absolutely stunning.
