Great Product Great Service!
||Posted .First of all, I'm a IT professional, so my knowledge of Windows and the hardware underlying this tablet is pretty high. Just some basic info - yes, it's quad core - and yes it's X86. For most nerds that's enough to let you know it's packing at least decent power. 1GB of RAM and 16GB eMMC (internal storage) is very much low-end these days, but it's surprising what windows can do with it. OOTB it gives you about 4-5GB of space. Post Office install it ends up being quite a bit smaller. about 1.7GB of that 'used' space is a dynamic pagefile. Unfortunately the office installer doesn't give you the option of installing office to an SD card. The screen is IPS and has really good viewing angles for the price. Wifi is acceptable, and bluetooth seems to work well (see my note about sleep issues). USB OTG support (you can get the cables cheap off amazon, I'm not sure if Best Buy even carries them) - and it does work with hubs (necessary if you ever want to run anything other than windows 8.1). Volume buttons and power button have a good feel to them and the capacitive windows button works, but with no feedback. There is a little LED by the camera that glows red when charging. 2 Cameras offer enough quality for skyping or taking basic photos - don't expect this to take pictures like a high end smartphone. It's got enough chops for simple apps and runs office well. I ended up wiping mine and installing the Windows 10 Technical Preview. I first backed up the recovery, backed up drivers using a powershell script I found on a technet blog, and then installed using a USB Hub + Keyboard + Mouse + USB Key w/ WIndows 10 TP. You do have to be careful and setup the USB drive as GPT (Use a tool called Rufus). The install went quickly and I did delete the windows and recovery partition to maximize space. I installed the drivers and everything worked perfectly, except the touch screen which was all messed up. I emailed support and they dropped me the driver package with the correct calibrations! You can also use the driver packages for the Onda v820w (just google it), which is the direct from china model w/ 2GB ram and 32GB emmc and HDMI (looks nearly identical). For the price though (got it on sale), this tablet has mroe than enough emmc to support a windows install and basic tablet apps. Windows 10's tablet mode and Cortana make this guy an Android killer in my mind. I'm very impressed with the hardware and support from Digiland. One more note: I did try MHL just to see if HDMI was routed to the Micro USB, but no dice. This guy is a budget tablet, so it lacks some of the bells and whistles. Also, I know in windows 8, I had trouble with bluetooth causing windows to sleep to death, but I haven't had any issues with the windows 10 TP (same driver). I wouldn't recommend installing the Technical Preview unless you're comfortable with using a USB OTG cable and hub + creating a UEFI bootable copy of windows. Also - you do have to use the X86 version of windows even though the Atom does support 64-bit. Drivers and bootloader will prevent you from installing the 64-bit version. Since this tablet uses a recovery that also acts as it's source for windows files (google 'wimboot') for recovery, I'm not sure what the upgrade path will be for Windows 10. I will say, if you're brave enough to create a USB install you should be fine, as the hardware is sufficient for Windows 10. I hope this review helps anyone who's looking for a fun device to play with! Lots of possibilities with a Windows tablet. I'd even venture to guess you could get Windows 7 booting if you really wanted to ;-).

Great Win 8 Tablet
||Posted .Its fast and responsive. Great features, but, I gave it 4 stars mostly for the limitations of the Win 8 operating design. Here is why: Apps can only be downloaded to the main C drive which fills up rather quickly. The Win 8.1 update blocks the user from redirecting the apps to the SD card. You will lock up the tablet and will need to restore if you do this. Windows update will also fill the C drive. You will need to disable updates if you want any space at all. The only way to free up space is to uninstall apps. The only problem with that is you will loose apps that you really like and it turns into a compromise. Now, For the Tab itself, the Specs indicate 16gb memory, But reality is 8gb and most of that is gone with apps and updates. So, in conclusion, I mainly use this tab for information, emailing, surfing etc.... I do not expect much in the area of archiving or any serious production. You can install a SD card and load your music onto the card. you cannot load any MS products onto the card as all related goes into the C drive. I did mull over whether to return this tab for a higher end, but decided to keep it due to it does function well.

Overall a good buy, not great, but good.
||Posted .Pretty good little value tablet for the money. Processor is good for internet, videos, basic tasks. The RAM is fine for the most part. The biggest downfall for this or any Windows tablet is the storage. Don't let others fool you. You can add an SD card, but for the main drive the majority is taken up by Windows and it's updates. The little bit left over is all you get to install "apps". Unfortunately the SD card is for media only such as music, documents, pictures, etc....... Windows requires its apps to be installed directly to the main drive. That leaves you about 2 gigabytes for you apps, so choose wisely. It's a shame that Microsoft doesn't allow you to install apps to the SD card. Just like Apple and others, you are basically stuck with the memory that comes with the device, so buy one with as much storage onboard as you can afford. This one was full after just a few apps were installed. If all you want is an internet connected device to surf that web and not I install apps, this would be the right device for that and deserve more stars. I really do like it and was hoping to love it, but it fell a bit short of my expectations. It's a solid three star performance from a relatively unknown manufacturer. I would recommend the tablet as long as you understand the restrictions. I hope this honest review helps.

Great bargain Windows tablet
||Posted .If you are looking for a budget tablet and need Windows, this is a good one. I put a 32 gig micro SD in the slot. Just remember, you get what you pay for. I mostly surf and email and it's good for that. I was disappointed that I couldn't upgrade to Windows 10, or haven't figured out how yet. The main memory is not big enough for the upgrade. The screen has good enough resolution and plays video good. The stream is good as long as you have a good internet. Overall, for the price, I'm very satisfied.

For the Price, a Pretty Nice Windows Tablet
||Posted .I bought this for an art project my wife was working on, and didn't expect much from a $99 Windows 8 tablet. To my surprise, it's quite speedy and runs the full version of Windows 8 nicely. The screen resolution is perhaps too high at times to adequately touch the small touchpoints and text for Windows, but it's a nice tablet overall.

Good for the money
||Posted .I go this tablet on sale for $49 along with $40 of discounts I ended up paying $9 on my credit card. The tablet actually seems fairly fast and battery life is not great but OK. My major concern is the very limited amount of storage space. Although the main drive has 16 GB total space, after the operating system and paging (virtual memory) file I only have about 3 GB left for my own applications. Windows 8.1 forces applications to be loaded on the main drive so even though you can add an SD card for more storage, in reality you really can't use the SD card for much. Overall, I recommend it as it is a good tablet for a very reasonable price.

Good for the Price
||Posted .I received this tablet for Mother's Day and was very pleased with the price. Upon set up of the tablet, I was happy, however, once I started to use it regularly, I noticed that the tablet would freeze up often or the button to turn on the screen once in hibernation mode, would not work. It would take up to 5 minutes to turn the screen on. The battery life also leaves a lot to be desired. All in all, for the price, this is a good tablet, however, next time I will probably spend more money on a better option.

A steal at 50 bucks...and some tips....
||Posted .You are getting a full PC that can do nearly anything a full fledged laptop or desktop can do. Its amazing times when you can get this much computing power for 50 bucks. You will be hard pressed to find an Android tablet with similar hardware specs for this price. To think I once paid 200 for a Palm Pilot PDA that could do 2% of what this unit does. The digital divide has been crossed. A few tips to help with the 16gb emmc "harddrive" Google for detailed instuctables on performing these task. * you can reduce the pagefile to 800mb and not see much issue *you can disable hibernate to gain about a gb. *you can run a cleanup command to delete old system update files. Doing these things I have about 5.7gb free. I dont think that many casual users will have issues with the limitations of these units, but if you are technically inclined you may want to help optimize the tablet for them. .
