A group of interstellar outlaws team up to save the galaxy from a villain who seeks ultimate power in this comic book space adventure from Marvel Studios and director James Gunn (Slither, Super). Peter Quill was just a young boy when, devastated by his mother's death, he sprinted out of the hospital and was swept into the stars by Yondu (Michael Rooker), the leader of an eclectic band of space scavengers known as The Ravagers. Twenty-six years later, Quill has adopted the nickname Star Lord (Chris Pratt). He's broken away from The Ravagers in an attempt to track down an ancient orb that is also coveted by the evil Ronan (Lee Pace), who is in league with the dreaded Thanos, and who dispatches his top assassin Gamora (Zoe Saldana) to retrieve it from Star Lord. In the process of doing so, Gamora also gets drawn into a fight with furry bounty hunter Rocket (voice of Bradley Cooper) and his tree-like, humanoid companion Groot (voice of Vin Diesel). Subsequently thrown into prison, this unlikely quartet quickly makes the acquaintance of fearsome warrior Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), who seeks bitter revenge for the slaughter of his entire family at the hands of Ronan. In the process of making a daring prison break, Star Lord, Gamora, Rocket, Groot, and Drax recover the orb, and transport it to The Collector (Benecio Del Toro), who reveals that it houses an Infinity Gem - one of six precious stones that harbors incredible powers that could pose a dire threat should they fall into the wrong hands. Later, Ronan acquires the Infinity Gem and plots to use its power to destroy The Nova Corps home-world of Xandar, The Guardians of the Galaxy must race through the stars to recover it before Ronan can carry out his genocidal plan.~Jason Buchanan
Exclusive look at Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron - bursting with action, and including the newest members of the Marvel Cinematic Universe - Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch - Marvel's Avenger's: Age of Ultron is truly a battle for the ages!
I have been waiting for the 4K Blu-ray version of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in what seems like forever! And here it is ... finally in my hands!
This is one of the most entertaining and enjoyable chapter installments in the current Marvel Cinematic Universe. I had it’s sequel in 4K before this one ever came out in 4K HDR. Colors are bolder- more lively. And the sound coming out through my Dolby Atmos surround sound system is out of this world. Awesome!!!
Likely the poster. Great entertained movie! Such things with filled sounds, actions, fun and enjoying. I saw it first at the theatre movie w/ Open Caption in 2014.
~Little disppointed I received it the delivery somehow, it gots dented up on top of steelbook. But fortunately, I had to taken it to exchange it new one.
The movie was great. The steel case is sturdy. The only thing I did not like was the cardboard description of the movie that is attached on the back of the case. Because that cardboard has a flap that goes to the front of the case and the flap does not stay steady.
Awesome bluray set & rare collectible for GOTG fan
When I saw this steelbook image made available to the foreign market, I had hoped something similar would be made available for the fans in the U.S. Thanks to Best Buy, not only do we get this amazing steelbook set which is my favorite so far, but we get it all at an amazingly low price! Collectors know as there were eager fans lining up before the store opened upon its release date and the limited steelbooks were quickly grabbed up! These easily sell on the secondary market for almost triple the retail price! A hit movie, a beautiful steelbook, an amazing HD transfer with beautiful details and color that pop..! This is truly a steelbook set worthy of being in The Collectors collection!
