Tony Stark (Robert Downey, Jr.) wrestles with inner demons while contending with monsters of his own creation in this sequel from writer\director Shane Black. The story in Iron Man 3 picks up shortly after the events of The Avengers. Having previously entered another dimension in order to save New York City, Tony remains deeply haunted by the experience. Unable to sleep, he throws himself into his work with such intensity that it begins to take a heavy toll on both his mental health and his relationship with Pepper Potts (Gwyneth Paltrow). Tony has only started to appreciate the gravity of his problems when an enigmatic terrorist named the Mandarin (Ben Kingsley) hijacks the airwaves and threatens to bring America to its knees with a painful series of "lessons" that even President Ellis (William Sadler) won't be able to ignore. When Tony's former security guard Happy Hogan (Favreau) is badly injured in an explosion caused by one of the Mandarin's agents, the vengeful playboy issues a public threat that results in his home being completely destroyed in a devastating attack, leaving him to face his enemy with only one badly damaged prototype suit. Fortunately, Tony isn't on his own, and with the help of Col. James Rhodes (Don Cheadle) and a young boy named Harley (Ty Simpkins), he pieces together the mystery of the Mandarin, whose final "lesson" promises to be the most painful of all.~Jason Buchanan

For fans of these live-action Iron Man movies, this 3rd installment is just as entertaining as before.
My only note is, I ordered this online (quite some time after it's release date) thinking it would still include all that I had seen on store shelves when this 1st came out & as it's seen on Best Buy's website ...meaning the packaging. When it arrived, it was only the standard plastic casing without the outer cover case/slip with it's embossed glossy art. It was disappointing, considering I like all the published art packaging and the reason why I continue to buy hard copies of movies instead of just digital downloads. But for the sale price, I'm good with my purchase that includes 3D + standard Blu-Ray + DVD + Digital Copy + Music Album
Usually - historically - the third film of a franchise is/was a lousy, terrible, 'one-off-at-the-wrist' non-effort. Characters we were induced to caring about - even loving - were turned into caricatures of themselves and you felt like an idiot for investing your money, time & loyalty by attending the screening - only to leave the theater disgusted and hurting in a place no one should hurt.
Not so with Iron Man 3! We see a Tony Stark who experiences random panic attacks, who actually cares for someone more than he does himself. I've read about a million comic books in my day and I've always hated Tony Stark. Until now. Can't wait for Iron Man 4!!
I would recommend this to a friend
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Owned for 1 week when reviewed.
I definitely thought Iron Man 3 was solid thanks to Robert Downey Jr. He was truly the anchor of the entire MCU. His acting in the finale Endgame was worthy of an Oscar nomination. I also thought he was the one who made the Spider-Man movies a big success (the ones under the MCU). I was uncertain of Tom Holland, but pairing him with Downey made them huge successes. Civil War (under the Capt American banner) was really Avengers 2.5 and again Downey added to the strength of the film.
This steelbook was received without any damage. I had not previously owned this movie and saw the steelbook was on sale. I ordered many of the marvel steelbook during the sale and 2 of them came damaged.
I really enjoyed this movie and saw it in theaters despite others being upset with how the plot went. Watch the marvel one shot on the Thor: Dark World release.
I was able to get this during the buy 2 get 1 free sale while at the same time they were at a reduced price. The price for the 4k upgrade was too good to pass up. Whether or not it is worth the upgrade depends on your TV setup. The artwork on the steelbook is good and the issue of noting including the title on the side has been fixed. Now if they could just find a way to keep cardboard sleeve over the case to stay down.
