      A Bit Disappointed

I've had this computer for about a month now. I've always had HP computers, but after several years, mine decided to die, so it was time to buy a new one. I decided to give Lenovo a chance. This seemed to have what I was looking for except I was not happy about windows 10, but then again that's pretty standard in new computers. After reading all the reviews, I decided to buy this one. A bit disappointed in how slow it seems to be. No matter what web browser I use, I have problems with the pages freezing. All my updates are up to date and currant. One of the biggest reasons I decided to get this one over others was because it said that it was good for multitasking and windows 10 would effortlessly support of my programs. This is what seems to slow it down. So I'm disappointed in that. Set up was quick and easy, and although I do have wifi at home, I decided to use it with an ethernet card, which made it a bit faster then with wifi. I was also surprised at how flimsy the dvd drive is, although it works good, it just doesn't seem very sturdy. I'm not sue if I would recommend this computer or not. I guess it all depends on your situation and needs. I would definitely have given it 5 stars if it was this slow.

This system should provide good speed with its Intel Pentium processor and 4GB of RAM. Be sure any software you installed is compatible with Windows 10. There is no need to install Microsoft Office software. The software is already part of the operating system, you just need to activate the software with a purchased product key. If you have installed a copy of Microsoft Office, this is conflicting with the existing copy on the system and this will slow your system down. If you have installed a 3rd party anti-virus program, be sure that Windows Defender is turned off and that the trial version of McAfee Anti-Virus software is uninstalled. There can only be one anti-virus program on the system. You may need to restore your system to original factory default settings if any of the programing errors have occurred. You can do that by typing "restore" in the Cortana search window. Just click on the magnifying glass icon at the bottom left of your Windows 10 Desktop. Click on "Reset This PC" Then click on "Get Started" and follow the on screen directions to restore to factory defaults. lenovo

I have a higher-end laptop for work and use a desktop for browsing and video streaming. This does the job. I found it a little slow at first - it lags if I open too many tabs in the browser. I bought a small SSD and that helped speed it up. Unfortunately, you can't add a third SATA device to this, so to add the SSD, you have to disconnect either the included hard drive or the DVD. I disconnected the DVD drive, since I rarely use DVDs. Fortunately, it's very easy to open the case and access components.I'd also like to add some RAM to this. It can be done, but it only has one slot, so you can't just buy 4GB to get 8. You have to buy one stick of 8GB and remove the original 4GB. Also, it uses laptop RAM, which is more expensive than desktop. So it will cost you $60-$70 to get this to 8GB. However, even adding that and the price of the SSD to the original cost of the computer, this is a good deal. I love the small form factor, the fact that it has WiFI, and the number of USB 3.0 ports, especially the two on the front panel. I just wish it were more flexible for expanding/upgrading.

Geek Squad tells me that within the first six months the hard drive has failed - still under warranty. That the drive is unique and can't be repaired in-house or replaced. It will take three weeks to repair - out of state - and if the repair isn't effective this must happen two more times before a warranty replacement can be processed - just short of 2 1/2 months - at a minimum. I'm without my computer for that long? Is that really the best that Best Buy can do for me? Am I expected to make Best Buy my preferred retailer for computers? That is completely unacceptable. It isn't how you retain customers.

After my MacBook of 5 years started acting up, I knew I needed a new one fast. I went to Best Buy and had excellent customer service experience in helping me to choose a new one. I went in to buy a MacBook Pro, but quickly learned that there are only two out ports and no USB, and this would require me to buy all new dongles, which are expensive. The woman helping me walked me through the MacBook Air, helping me realize this was a much better choice for what I use it for. This saved me $450! And it feels just like my old laptop, only faster and more fluid. Great experience!

I bought this for a friend (Xmas present) so that she can do her online banking, email and youtube videos. She's not a gamer so she didn't need a high-end gaming PC, just something for basic everyday use. Setup was easy, and Windows 10 is simple enough for her to use. As a good basic Desktop PC she is quite happy with the overall performance. Has enough memory to handle her tasks pretty smoothly and the 500gb hard drive is plenty of space for her (she just keeps some pictures and documents on the hard drive and doesn't really save larger files like video files and she doesn't play games anyway on this).

My old desktop died and I had decided I didn't really need one anymore. A while after that I saw this one on sale and I had been missing a desktop system so I decided to give it a try. This is not a fast computer so for someone who needs fast this is not a system for you. For my needs of web browsing, email, Netflix, YouTube etc. it is perfect. It registers download speed of 300 MB with the Ethernet connecter and my Comcast internet via speedtest.net. I even bought the Lenovo 3 year support plan I was so impressed.

I gave it 5 stars because, so far, no complaints only compliments. Windows 10 does take some getting used to. I miss the word processing programs that came with earlier versions of Windows. The ones in Windows Accessories are somewhat useful. I have not used the cd drive yet. I called Lenovo for restore discs just in case I needed them because they were not included with the desktop. They promptly sent it out via a flash drive. Best Buy had a great sale price on this computer. Enjoy.

I have had this computer about 6 weeks. Several times it has froze up with a blue screen showing, and I would have to do a manual shutdown. Yesterday I went to turn it on and it won't even power up. I checked all the connections and everything was connected. I will take it back to the store and I will see what they may or may not do for me. I am thoroughly disgusted. I will not buy this brand again!
