Director Bill Duke steps behind the camera for this adaptation of the T.D. Jakes novel concerning a newly married couple that finds their union threatened by pressures involving faith, family, and finances. As the couple exchanges their vows, the minister lays a cord around them while uttering the blessing, "a threefold cord is not easily broken." Later, during their darkest hour, the minister's advice to always keep God at the center of their marriage could be the only thing that keeps this troubled pair together.~Jason Buchanan
Awesome movie about real life issues and how people try to cover up
I would recommend this to a friend
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
This movie is the perfect movie for anyone who is married, thinking about getting married or would like to get married some day. It is nice to see movies that have positive male characters. I was on the fence about whether or not to buy the movie or just rent. I did rent it and I purchased it the next day. This is one for the dvd collection. The cast is great and I really could relate to the situations that occur in the movie. Excellent work!!
I loved this movie. It was relevant in a time when divorce is very common and marriages all over are being tested. This story was inspirational but also a story that everyone can relate too. I love Morris Chestnut, Taraji P. Henson and Jennifer Lewis. I thought that Kevin Hart was a little over the top but he kept the movie entertaining.
