• Warranty is from the manufacturer and is automatically included on new system purchases. The protection plan is extra, but that's because it provides much much more coverage

• Warranty from Best Buy, yes. But manufacturer warranty comes with every system free, which is only 1 year, and you’ll have to contact Sony & mail in your system.
