“How do I get my computer monitor to switch signals My monitor is connected to my satellite box via HDMI. It is connected to my video card via VGA to DVI. When I bought this device, I connected the HDMI of the monitor to its output port, and I connected my cable box to its HDMI port #1. I soon found that I could watch TV on my monitor okay as per normal, but it would not, or could not, detect the signal that would permit me to use my computer. Am I doing something wrong or do I need a different device. Monitor is HP w2207h”

The computer would have to have a video card that had a HDMI and run that cable to port 2,then you could switch between port 1 for sat. tv and port 2 for computer either by manual or remote control.If you don't have a HDMI on your computer's video card you will need to replace it with one that does

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I may not be reading this correctly. It sounds like you hooked up the TV correctly. Cable box..to..HDMI 1; Switch HDMI Out..to..TV HDMI 1. To use the computer, you will need to do the same... Computer HDMI Out..to..Switch HDMI 2 Computer VGA to HDMI..to..Switch HDMI 2 ...then your connection between the switch and the tv is already done. Now you just need to switch over to #2 to use the computer.
