Since you said you have an older television with no HDMI, you have to have it connected to a converter of some sort going to your television. I have an HDMI to 3RCA converter on my old SD television that I have connected the 4 port HDMI switch to. The sound works correctly in this setup. If your sound isn't working, the problem is probably due to one of the cables. I have had bad HDMI cables and bad RCA cables. I suggest that you try testing your cables by connecting to other sources that are working and make sure the cables going to your television are good. You might also try connecting to a different port on the switch to make sure the #2 port on the switch isn't the problem
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.BowtieBri, that sounds about right. with a HMDI converter cable to a TV that does not have HDMI, video would be the only thing coming through. what i'm thinking is to get sound, you may have to connect a Insignia™ - 6' 3.5mm Mini-to-RCA Stereo Audio Cable to the back audio ports of the TV to a separate sound system. The audio outlets are usually the Red/White/Yellow/Black ports. There is a multitude of connection configurations you can go with, but to ensure the right one, check the back of the tv for the audio ports and the connection type (Male or female) to the sound system. Let me know if this solution works! - Mike
