“I have a firestick, an Apple TV and chromecast plugged into my rocketfish 4-port hdmi selector. The chrome cast and Apple TV work fine. My firestick won't connect. I've plugged it directly into the tv an it works. Tried another port too-no go.”

I had a similar problem with the same switch. I got video but no audio. Rep from Amazon says that the device is designed to plug directly into the tv. Once I did that I have no problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Understand that all switches are not compatible with all things. In most cases an hdmi cable goes directly into the female hdmi port. I tried hdmi switchs. Not all of them work. Check with Geek Squad to see if there is a compatible. I hope this helps you. I am not an expert.
