Hello Goobey! We're excited to hear that you are interested in the Acoustimass 10 series IV home theater system. This system does require to be wired to a 3rd party receiver that produces 10-200 watts per channel and 4-8 ohms. Hope this helps! Have a fabulous day. Ashley - Bose Support
