For your first question, you gotta know that this is just a subwoofer and speakers. You still need to buy a receiver. Your first question is one that needs to be asked to the receiver you need to purchase. It should work with any receiver. Your second question... I don't think so. I haven't bought a surround system in a long time and it sure is different than the old one I had. The old one you have the speaker wire that hooks up from the speaker straight to the receiver. Simple. This one had me confused. So this one has special wire that plugs into the speaker using an adapter built in the wire and then that wire plugs in the subwoofer. Then it has another special cable that hooks up from subwoofer to the receiver. What hooks up to the receiver is like the old fashion (red to red, black to black). Sounds complex. Idk if pics will upload but there you can see. One pic is the connection that plugs in the speaker. The other is the connection of the subwoofer. All the color cables are the individual wirs that are coming from each speaker. Then the big black thing is the connector tthat will go to the receiver. Sorry for long explanation, and hope I wasn't too confusing. Best of luck :)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
