• Hi Ronj, Thanks for the question. We do not recommend connecting the Acoustimass speakers directly to a receiver as they are designed to interface with the bass module first. The reason for this is that the bass module typically has additional attributes such as active equalization dedicated to the speakers in the Acoustimass system package to allow them to sound their best. By connecting directly to the receiver, you are bypassing this, thus leading to potentially poorer sound output.
