“I had a tv for 3 years now I have a 70” and I’m not sure what happened but I turned the tv on and the LCD screen has line and appears to have cracks. There are no damage to the screen. Will the protection plan cover this?”

This same thing happened to me and I just had Geek Squad come out and they said I am not covered for external damage to the panel. I didn't hit the screen over time we had some pixels out and then lines appeared o then we saw the screen appeared to have cracks, I don't know if its from an internal heat issue or not. I have just called customer support at Best Buy and they will review this claim. Its a shame that we buy extended coverage that we all think covers cracked screens but it does not. I am sure BB would try and get out of insurance claim if you had a power surge too claiming that you didn't have it plugged into a GFI surge protector outlet. Its very strange because this very same thing happened to our last TV we purchased from BB and they did replace/ exchange the tv 3 years ago. It seems they are not doing this anymore for non external damaged cracked panels.
