“I bought a tv less than 2 years ago .. night geek squad plan ., tv randomly turns off .. took to Best Buy in the town where grandchild with tv lives . Was told plan only covers the screen or picture ., that’s not what I was told when I bought plan.”

As per the overview: If your TV won’t turn on because of a power surge, we'll fix it. If there's a power surge or fluctuation that damages your product, we'll make things right. This includes a surge caused by a lightning strike. If your screen has bad pixels or a shadow image, we'll correct it. If you have at least three pixels that are always the same color or a ghost image that won't go away, we'll get your picture looking like new. Accidental damage is NOT covered. Always call and explain the issue if it is within two years or purchase. She should take care of this issue for you as it seems to be related to a power issue and not the screen.
