“My charger cable is loose (that plugs into my pico) -- have to use tape to get it to hold tight (red light to stay on). Is this a fixable issue? I've had it for 3 years maybe and use it a lot.”

It sounds like it may just be the USB charging cable that is not plugging in securely with the projector. I recommend to get a new micro USB charging cable and that should fix the issue.
