Are you referring to an SSD? If so, an SSD is a Solid State Drive, unlike the ones we have been using for years, a drives that has moving parts. Think of an SSD in terms of an iPhone or any other smartphone, they all use SSD dives, what is normally called "Flash Memory" and is the most reliable, stable drives made so far. If your PC has an SSD, wow, you are good for many years, no wear and tear, no defragging, no maintenance.

I am not sure how useful this is for most folks but may come in handy if you want to work with or download larger files or videos due to the smaller storage available on the computer. The only draw back is the SD card sticks out the side of the laptop quite a bit when you have it inserted into the slot so you will not want to leave it in most of the time.
