• CD's and DVD's cannot be played on a Chromebook, even if an external drive were purchased. It is not a supported peripheral.

• I bought an external CD player, and it wouldn't work. As of now, chrome does not support this, I was told.

• Yes you will need to buy a separate cd player to connect to your Acer laptop. You can watch movies on the laptop however using different online sources. You can also use different sites such as YouTube or Spotify to listen to music.

• The Acer - 11.6" Chromebook does not have an optical drive. To use CDs or DVDs with this Chromebook you would need to purchase an external drive.

• you need to buy an external drive that takes DVD's Cd's they even sell Blu Ray drives

• Yes, Usually an external DVD/CD drive should work just fine, if you have a USB port on the computer to connect it to.
