Thanks, TinyZombie. I figured out the extended screen screen and secondary monitor set to primary screen. I think changing to 16:9 may be ideal if I can see how ( that's the first thing I attempted); otherwise, extended has been working for my needs. So glad there was nothing wrong with this chromebook as I love it!.

Please try again later.If you are using mirrored mode, then no, because this Acer Chromebook Spin 713 has a less rectangular 3:2 aspect screen while most TV sets are 16:9 aspect (your R11 Chromebook also has a 16:9 screen, which is why it fits the TV better). You can work around this issue by either changing your new Chromebook to a 16:9 aspect resolution when using it on the TV, or by running the displays in extended mode (both screens are independent of each other and run at their own resolutions, and you can drag applications back and forth between them). Another option would be to just turn off your built-in screen when using an external display (turn the screen brightness all the way down and the Chromebook should switch everything to your TV). 3:2 aspect screens are considered to be better for productivity, while 16:9 screens are better for media (widescreen movies).
