“Is the sound quality on the Spin as soft and tinny as some people have mentioned? And is it too low to watch Netflix and YouTube? My TV's HDMI ports are blown, so the Spin would be my source for entertainment. Thanks!”

While overall the Spin 713 is a standout device, the audio is the main, glaring weak spot of this Chromebook. The low volume capability is really pathetic. I consider it an unforgivable design oversight. External speakers of some type are almost a necessity.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The speakers aren't the best, but you certainly can watch TV/Movies with just the built in speakers. You'll probably want to be somewhere quiet. Otherwise, headphones/earbuds or even a bluetooth external speaker would be good alternatives.

Please try again later.i bought this chromebook on sale a few days ago. the incredible display was the biggest selling point. only 4 of the chromebooks at best buy had accurate colors. of those 4, the others had better sound (especially the pixelbook go). i bought this knowing i would use external speakers. i have an old pair of bose companion 2 series ii speakers that will do the job. i suggest you get a pair of external speakers for $100 and have great sound and a great display.
