• No. However, 8GB of RAM on a Chromebook is plenty powerful, as ChromeOS does not need much to run.

• The RAM is soldered to the mainboard, and there are no additional slots. You'll be stuck with 8GB. However, the SSD *is* upgradable.

• Some laptops are still upgradable i wouldnt buy one that has less than 12gb and isnt upgradable. They may have one stuck soldered and the other swappable

• No laptops really have upgradable memory in 2022, as Manufactures started integrating via robotics on to a single logic board like ram and SSD storage, aka Apple and the like you buy what you need, or plan to upgrade sooner if you are a super power user. With the price point of this new Acer it is a perfect price point for features vs cost, it should give you many years of service.
