That's the beauty of this thing. It comes with something called nitro sense which allows your to control exactly how fast and slow the fans will be it's nice. But answering your question, under normal non gaming situation I forget I even have a fan then when I start playing a game I can start to hear the fans and depending on what the temp of the laptop will depend on how fast and loud the fans get. All in all I love it cause it has dual fans and I enjoy gaming on it. I sometimes turn the fans on maximum just for kicks and giggles to make sure it stays cool while I play more intensive games for longer periods of time. Example late night gaming for about 4 hours and the PC still going strong.
