• You should be able to, as long as the monitor can connect via HDMI or USB, this computer has no serial port. Should be able to hook up an external dvd drive via 1 of the USB ports.

• It has an HDMI port, so yes you can connect a monitor to it. And if you got an external USB CD/DVD drive, I'm sure that would work for playing games. However you could also install steam, origin, epic, etc. and download games directly to the laptop. My wife was playing Fallout 4 on it last night and the game looked way better than console.
