“Can you use an external router instead of the one internal? I want to use the apple airport extreme router that has AC capability and wondered if i can use that router instead of the one that's in the actiontec? Also hope this is compatible with windstream.”

• Yeah you can just set the airport to work in bridge mode and use dhcp on the actiontec.

• Yes I am using a Netgear 6250 for my router. Use the modem just to get hooked into the DSL provider. Put this into bridge mode and you will have no problem

• Yes, you can, you would need to configue the airport extreme router for it, and disable some functions on el action tec, but yes, it is possible.
