“I have an old version of Elements (5.0). With that I can take a part of one photo and layer it on another photo and create an entirely new photo. (ex. take a picture of my dog and have it flying through space). Can I do that with this product?”

yes you can take everything out the picture except your dog put in anything plus even if there's people or objects you can easily remove them
