Does your MacBook M1 have a display port connector? What are the settings for the resolution? The native resolution is 3440 x 1440, stick to the native resolution in your video card selection. Native is just, very simplified, but is the number of individual "pixels" in the hardware or screen. So picking the native resolution you are getting each individual pixel on the monitor for the pixel output from the PC. Say you picked a resolution that used 1.4 pixels on the monitor, just the hardware. The monitor has no choice but to go to 2 pixels instead, No hardware can do 1.4 pixels.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not designed to be a productivity monitor. This monitor was designed with gaming first meaning that the text fringing and sharpness where less important than things like color accuracy and response times The text looks worse than other monitors because of the panels sub pixel layout being different than the conventional layout. There is no fix for how the text looks

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use mine with an M2 Pro Mac Mini. I would try a USB-C to DP cable or adapter. I never used HDMI through the built-in port, as there were issues with my previous monitor. I bought a generic cable from Amazon that looks sharp and supports the full 3440x1440P. I know the bandwidth limits the FPS with HDMI, but I am not sure if it has a problem with the resolution. I understand when I had my Samsung Neo G9, it had a resolution of 5120x1440P. I could not get that resolution with HDMI; I had to use a USB-C to DP, or it would render it at half that resolution. I would also suggest checking the system preferences. I know that with the built-in screen on MacBooks, you have to change the resolution manually, as it does this odd scaling on retina displays. I don't remember if my MacBook M1 Pro would list resolutions or show these boxes, saying this is how the text looks.
