To answer my own question in case anyone else wonders the same thing, I ended up taking a chance and purchasing this after chatting with a BestBuy rep online. They asked if I had tried to install the app--excellent thought that had not occurred to me. And, they verified that this item was returnable within so many days if I was not satisfied with it for any reason. So, I installed the app and it worked properly. I of course could not test it fully without the device, but since it said it was compatible and ran fine until the point of pairing, I chanced it. I ordered the device and it has been working perfectly smoothly. I also verified my Android OS version was on AliveCor's list of compatible devices, even though my specific device was not. It's was still a gamble, but I can confirm my particular Samsung Galaxy S10e works.
