• Depends on the model of your TV. But my experience with recent TV models is that the speaker cuts out when a 3.5mm jack or optical cable is connected. Again, depends on the manufacturer of you TV.

• It will depend on the TV. Some TVs support audio to both at the same time but we also found TV that can only do one output.

• The speakers are muted for me. I go to the settings bar on my Samsung TV, where you choose between normal tv speakers or using digital audio output. It is one or the other in my set-up, not both
